“Coffee with Christ”

(Luke 12:35-36)

“Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.”

The long flowing robes men wore during the days of Christ hindered their ability to work. They would gather them up and wrap them around his waste and tuck them in when the time to work came. Keeping the oil lamps trimmed and burning to be ready in a moments notice was important. Being ready and staying ready to meet The Lord is the most important thing in our life and it takes constant effort. We never know when He will return! When He returns will you be ready? How will He find you? Will you have the work He has given you to do finished? Life for so many of us are filled with loose ends! Things undone, half done, put off and some things not even attempted! The last word of Christ on the Cross was, “It is finished”. The work the Father had given Him to do was done! I hope we will be able to say the same. He is worthy!
