LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to pr actise wicked works with men that work iniquity. Psalm 141:1-3
There Are Many Antichrists
“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time” (1 John 2:18).
The spirit of antichrist is not anti-religion; it promotes religion. It is not anti-morality nor anti-law; it promotes both! It is not anti-good works; it encourages good works done in the name of morality and religion. IT IS ANTICHRIST! It is opposed to giving Christ all the glory for our election, our redemption, our calling, our righteousness, our preservation and perseverance, our resurrection, and our eternal glory. “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” (Proverbs 15:1).
When the Lord Himself “was reviled, He reviled not again.” We need to learn this well. When someone lashes out at you, don’t lash back. It never accomplishes anything and only worsens the situation. In the heat of conflict much is said that is not meant and is later regretted. If only we could bite our tongues. Someone once said: “If you are offended by someone, wait an hour before you respond. If it is really important, sleep on it.”And if by God’s grace, we could only respond with a “soft answer.” Experience will show that a kind and reasonable answer will often diffuse someone’s anger.

“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen” (Romans 11: 36).
Speaking of God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the apostle Paul writes of three things that should cause every child of God to continually rejoice in HIM!
OF Him Christ is the CAUSE of all things.
THROUGH Him Christ is the MEANS of all things.
TO Him Christ is the END of all things.
The Lord Jesus Christ is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Rev 22:13) Christ is all, and in all. (Col 3:11) We don’t make HIM Lord of our life, He already is Lord. My only hope of redemption is that God might make Him Lord of my life. All things, especially salvation, are OF HIM, as the cause, THROUGH HIM, as the means, and TO HIM, in the end. Truly God saves His elect for His own name’s sake. (Is 48:11) Has God shown you that? If He has then you will proclaim as Paul did, “to HIM be glory for ever. Amen.”Pastor David Eddmenson
GOD’S FOUNDATION Isaiah 28:16
People are no different in Isaiah’s day than in ours. Religious lost men still love to brag and boast of their agreements, pledges, decisions and covenants they have made with death, hell and the grave. Therefore we need to constantly warn every one of the certain and eternal destruction of all those who rest in their refuge of lies (Isa.28:17-18). They willfully choose to disregard the only foundation on which the guilty sinner can find peace with God and go about to establish their own righteousness by their deeds (Rom. 10:1-4). Our Lord Jesus Christ is plainly set forth in scripture as the only provided and secure foundation upon which guilty sinners can rest and find peace with God (1 Cor.3:11; 1 Peter 2:2-7; 2 Cor.5:18-21).
Isaiah describes this foundation with great detail so that none will be misled or mistaken to trust a false christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the "tried stone." When He was manifested in the flesh as the sinner’s Mediator, He was tried, tested, and tempted in every aspect that a man could possibly be tested and yet he never failed (Heb. 4:14-15). He is also called the, "precious corner stone." He is precious to God the Father who sent Him to be the Saviour and Redeemer of His people (Matt. 3:17). He is also precious to those who trust Him as the only true refuge (1 Peter 2:7). Our blessed Lord put away our sin with His precious blood (1 Peter 1:18), granted us precious faith to fully trust Him (2 Peter 1:1-3), and has given to us His precious promises so that we might know more of this certain foundation. Isaiah also describes our Lord Jesus Christ as the, "sure foundation." I like things that are certain and sure. Nothing can be more certain and sure as that which God has provided for His people (Gen. 22:8). "The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are his" (2Tim 2:19). The certainty of this foundation is not us knowing Him, but rather Him knowing us (Rom. 8:29-30).
Those who are given life and grace to flee to the Lord Jesus Christ shall never be ashamed, will never be confounded and will never be forced out. Those who have trusted a false christ will be confounded and confused, especially on the day of judgment (Matt. 7:21-23). (Isa. 45:16-17).
My friend don’t be deceived, if you are trusting someone or something other than the Lord Jesus Christ alone, you are resting in that refuge of lies that Isaiah warned us about. Pray God that He would give you grace to trust Him alone and always for all of salvation (John 3:36; Acts 4:10-12).
