"FORGOTTEN THE LORD" - - Isaiah 51:12-13
"I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies And of the son of man who is made like grass, that you have forgotten the Lord your Maker?"
Whenever we fear man, we've forgotten God. It offends Him and harms us, that we'd run around teetering because of man, rather than standing boldly because of God. The gospel is a message to be proclaimed and explained in all fullness, holding back nothing. We simply glorify the Lord, and help people. We minister in His might and set the captives free.
Let us not preach a small God or hide from the issues of the day. Be willing to suffer for Christ. Paul is our example, saying, “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for His body, that is, the church [Col 1:24].” Look at who's on your side, not who's against you. What is man anyway, whose breath is in his nostrils? What's he to be accounted of, who fades like a leaf? Isaiah 51:8, “For the moth will devour them like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will last forever, and My salvation for all generations.” What is man’s fury, compared to the eternal kingdom of the gospel?
