Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Psalm 130:1-5
To Whom Shall We Go?
“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God” (John 6:68-69).
“Lord,” Peter said, “TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?” Shall we turn to the law? Nothing there but a curse and condemnation. Shall we turn to the religious organizations and preachers? Nothing there but dead works and ritualism. Shall we turn to our thoughts and righteousness? Nothing there but foolishness and filthy rags. “THOU HAS THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE;” not only the word of life and the Word which gives life, but HE HIMSELF IS ETERNAL LIFE!
“WE BELIEVE AND ARE SURE…” Notice the order here. Natural men demand to be sure before they will believe, but God reverses man’s order and requires faith first – then assurance. “…THAT THOU ART THAT CHRIST – THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD.”

They Are Gone
I want every child of God to realize the fact that at this very moment all of his sins are gone – effectually, completely, perfectly gone – through the great sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. All of your sins, from the cradle to the grave, sins before conversion and sins after conversion, and sins of every kind are washed away in Immanuel’s precious blood.
Since Christ has died in our stead, under the sentence of God’s law, we shall never be charged with sin. God has removed our sins from his book, from his memory, and from us. In Christ we have been freed from sin. “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12).
Stephen Charnock said, “When sin is pardoned, it is never charged again; the guilt of it can no more return than east can become west, or west become east.” Spurgeon said, “Our sins are so effectually removed that we shall not ultimately suffer any loss or damage through having sinned. That detriment was laid on Christ. His was the loss: ours is the gain. His was the suffering: ours is the unutterable joy.” And God himself says, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins” (Isaiah 43:25). Great And Marvelous Are Thy Works
“And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.” (Rev. 15:3).
Here the saints sing the song of victorious deliverance as Moses did in the wilderness (Ex. 15:1-19). It is the song that gives glory to the Deliverer (Rev.5:9-10). His works are said to be great and marvelous. All His works are wrought by His powerful hand and are wonderfully held in admiration by the redeemed. They sing the praises of His glorious name for He is the holy (just) and truthful (true) King of kings and Lord of lords.

NONE LIKE THE GOD OF ISRAEL
Moses had faithfully led Israel in the wilderness for forty years. The Lord is about to remove Moses from the scene and to raise up Joshua in his stead to lead the people into the land of promise. But before Moses departs he gives us this glorious statement about the God of Israel, "There is none like the God of Jeshurun (Israel) who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky" (Deut. 33:26). What is the God of Israel like? God has not left us to guess about this, but plainly declares His awesome and amazing character in the Holy Scriptures.
1). There is none like Him for the beauty of His HOLINESS!
"Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among gods? Who is like thee, glorious in Holiness' (Exodus 15: 11)? "There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee" (I Sam. 2:2).
2). There is none like Him for the glory of His POWER!
"O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee?" (Psalm 89:8). God has no rival no competitor no one can stand in opposition to His will, purpose or power. "Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee" (2 Sam. 7.22).
3). There is none like Him for the abundance of His MERCY!
"Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not His anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy" (Micah 7.18). God delights to show mercy to those for whom Christ Jesus stood as Substitute and Surety (Rom. 9.15-16).
4). There is none like Him for the effectiveness of His WORK!
"Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O LORD, neither are there any works like unto thy works" (Psalm 86:8). "The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness” (Psalm 111: 7-8). The Lord of glory has never tried to do anything. He has always accomplished His purpose with great effectiveness. He has established everlasting righteousness and complete salvation for His covenant people "I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me" (Psalm 57.2).
