"While I was with them, I was protecting them by Your name that You have given Me. I guarded them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture may be fulfilled."
The only people who are lost are so that the scriptures are fulfilled.
First, None of God's elect will be lost. Jesus had tears for the wicked, but He also had absolute confidence and settlement in God. He has complete joy in God's will. There was no resistance, because God saves WHOM HE PLEASES [Romans 9:15].
Secondly, all are commanded, called, and bidden with absolute earnestness! He wants all to come, but He's glorified in their perishing, because they have spurned mercy. They go to hell rejecting God's love, because they are deceived and wicked. Like Judas, they love sin and hate righteousness. They hate God and refuse to serve Him. Hell is their portion rightfully, and their purpose for existence is to glorify God's wrath - that it's just, and He uses the wicked wisely.
Romans 9:19-23
"You will say to me, therefore, “Why then does He still find fault? For who can resist His will?” But who are you, a mere man, to talk back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?” Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump [sinful man] one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor? And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction? And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory—"
I warn you to flee from the wrath to come. Do not despise God. He is too holy and powerful to play with. Hell is too long, hot, and painful. It would be better to have never been born than to spend eternity suffering. Don't let Him cast you into hell, which He is willing to do.
Thirdly, the elect will receive instruction. "I guarded them and not one of them is lost." You will turn from God's wrath and flee unto Jesus, and He will receive you. He'll welcome you, because He's glorified in saving sinners!
Come and be received. Be welcomed by God Almighty, transformed and forgiven. Be made a new creation and given life. There are joys you haven't seen yet, and a GOOD LIFE in overcoming sin. There's bright hope for tomorrow and peace for today. There's power over sin, a new nature, and joy that you know nothing about, but it's real and satisfying. John 4:34 “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work,” Jesus told them.' There's a clean conscience, pleasure, love, and obedience all to be given to you. There's a fight of faith, warning of others, and it's fulfilling. There's a life lived glorifying God that's higher and cleaner than anything on earth.
We live the best life now warring with sin in God's power and helping others. We live the best life, because we are with Christ who loved us and saved our souls! The love of the Father and the Son is higher and purer than anything imaginable, and then we go to be with God forever.
Finally, come to Him now. Don't delay. Don't let Him find you unwatchful. This life is too short for eternal damnation!
