“Your sun will no longer set, Nor will your moon wane; For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, And the days of your mourning will be over." vs20-21
God has a glorious future for His people. We shall enter Paradise to sin no more, and to enjoy the Lord forever.
First, heaven is our portion. Not only has He redeemed us, but heaven is our predetermined end [Eph 1:11]. God's going to pour out His goodness to us through Christ forever [Eph 2:7]. It will be heaven unimaginable.
Secondly, what kind of God is this? Shouldn't He be trusted now? Isn't He worthy of faith and love? Isn't it the BEST THING FOR US to believe in Him now? He only takes away to give something better, which is Himself in glorious love.
Thirdly, in heaven, there'll be no more danger! Rev 21:25, "Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there.)" No more sin to deal with, and no more fear. No more possibility of failure, and no more temptation! No more warfare and only glorious rest, peace, and security. There'll be no more heartache and no more injustice. It will only be righteousness and love. Grief and tears will be all wiped away. It will only be rejoicing, forever, without any threat of interruption.
Fourthly, seeing these things are so, what manner of persons ought we to be? 2 Pet 3:14, "Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace." Oh, how we ought to live in holiness, forgoing the temporary pleasures of sin for the eternal riches.
Don't be like Esau, and give up your birthright for a bowl of beans. Don't be so simple and foolish.
Fifthly, rejoice in Christ now! Walk around in hope. Don't put this in a, "I'll think about heaven when I get there," bag. Use it now. Take it out. Wear it all around you. Clothe yourself with it. Let joy, peace, and hope motivate you. Don't be so gloomy and doomy.
God put heaven in the Bible to encourage us. He knows that we need it, so use it often. Think about death and heaven too. Think about hell and heaven.
Finally, God's given us the word of promise, because He's a good God. He will not fail, and it will happen. Let us believe it and hope in Him.
