Please pray for Debbie as she begins her new job tomorrow.
Please also pray for Ruth and Sarah as they look for permanent work.
Continue to pray for the midweek meetings that God may bless these; thanking Him for granting the requests of His people this week!
Pray that God will give us wisdom at our members' meeting on Tuesday.
Prayer For The Local Area:
Knaphill is the church on the Prayer Diary for the coming week. The church correspondent writes: ‘Give thanks for answered prayer, Ben Short has accepted the call to the pastorate. Pray that he will soon be able to move to Knaphill.'
Prayer For The Wider Area:
Resolution on Armenian genocide may affect minority Christians
Turkey has hotly denied that the killing of nearly 1.5 million Armenians during World War I was a genocide. However, the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee classified it as such on Wednesday.
The resolution is a "dramatic shift of wording" that officially labels the events a genocide.
Turkey's president Abdullah Gul has called the action by the U.S. subcommittee "unacceptable."
The decision comes at a time when relations between the U.S. and Turkey are already tense. Potentially, one way to strike back is to strike against Christians because this could be perceived as Christians ganging up on Turkish Muslims. And that makes a potential target out of the Christians who are in Turkey. There are only about 3,000 evangelical believers in a population of 65 million.
A report from the Turkish Alliance of Protestant Churches, said that there have been several recorded threats and attacks on church buildings, citing a noticeable increase since the April 2007 attacks in Malatya.
Jez and Helen Fage - Considering missions work in Uganda
We have been back in the UK for nine months and we continue to be amazed at all that God is doing and how He continues to surprise and bless us.
Since arriving back from Namibia in January, we have been pursuing some lines of possibility in Africa for us. In February, Gary Snowzell from Leominster came to talk to us and the elders about his new work in Africa, with a possibility of us becoming involved. Gary went back to Africa in June and an opportunity arose for Jez to go out with Gary's team to Uganda.
Jez travelled in the capital Kampala and had many opportunities to speak with the leaders of the projects out there about future possibilities.
And the question for us right now - is Uganda the next step for us?
Here in Swansea we continue to work at the church on a regular basis and with the kid's cell group. We are excited to have responsibility for this lively group which now numbers 14- we are passionate about seeing God work in their lives. It has been great to see their progression and openness to God; this term we are seeking to build on those foundations.
