“Coffee with Christ” (1 Peter 2:8-9)
“Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
What a powerful set of scriptures! The us’s and the them’s. The believers and the unbelievers. The obedient and the disobedient. The chosen and the appointed.
The only difference between the two is the calling by God of His people out of the same darkness that the rest of the world are still bound by. We did not earn it nor deserve it any more or less than those who did not receive it. Surely that alone should draw praises from the lips of those who have been saved by the Glorious Grace of a merciful God who Loved us in spite of, not because of but in spite of who we were!
Soli Deo Gloria, For the Glory of God alone!
Sola Gratia, By Grace alone!
(Proverbs 16:9)
