“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

This Godless system, (the world) is made up of (all that is in it is) the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life.
Lust and pride are two common weaknesses that humanity in general are subject to.
Lust of the flesh here speaks of all of the sensual pleasures of life which include fornication, gluttony, drunkenness and the like which destroy the mind, will and emotions.
Lust of the eye, the camera lens of the soul, which yearns to see the sinful and vain sights of a world that has gone sex crazy. They can’t sell a bucket of paint on TV without a half nude woman holding a paint brush! Also the lust of covetousness of the visible things of the world, silver and gold! Money and the things it can buy!
The pride of life that come from these desires. The ambition that says we deserve these things that we desire and should have our fill without reservation.
Help us oh God, to turn form the things of the flesh and be faithful to You. To Love You more than the things of the world!
