Why is it that the church (Christians) always shoot their wounded? People fall, we sin, and sometimes horribly. If there is no remorse or repentance, the bible calls for church discipline, (1Cor. 5, Matt.14:15-17). But when there is confession, remorse and true repentance, there should be true forgiveness. Forgiveness is not abstract. It must have substance! It is something that must be carried out in the real world not just in word (2 Cor. 2:6-8). Not, “We forgive you but” and we keep a foot on them to keep them down rather than giving a hand to lift them up. Where is the love of Christ that was shown to us when we were dead is sin and trespass.
