Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; that thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
Psalm 94:12-14
Tie The Scarlet Line
In most circles it is unfashionable to believe in the old gospel of substitution and atonement. “Modern culture” and intellectualism have altered the Bible and religion until there is no real sin-offering and sacrifice left. The blood of His cross and the obedience of His life are only examples now, and not a propitiation, payment, nor imputed righteousness.
As for me, I tie the scarlet line in my window; I put the blood on my door; I stand amazed as my great High Priest enters within the veil with His own blood to make atonement for my soul. In the midst of a thousand “new gospels” that aren’t worth the breath it takes to preach them, I hold in my heart and soul to the gospel of God concerning His Son, who was wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities, and by whose stripes I am healed.
Like Rahab of old, tie the scarlet line in your window. If no one else sees it, GOD WILL! If no one else is pleased – GOD IS!

Faith Which Comes From God
The promises of the Gospel do not deal with feelings, but reality. By the Gospel, we ARE accepted in the Beloved, even if we do not FEEL accepted. We ARE forgiven in Christ, even when we do not FEEL so. Many a struggling believer has doubted his struggles by polling his feelings for proof of grace. But we live by faith, not by sight; that is, we live by believing even when there is no discernable proof of the things we believe.
We are prone to think our faith most strong when we most “feel” it, but faith is best proven when it has no supports. He who can trust Christ and cling to Christ when he has no emotional testimony to verity his faith is truly the one who has that faith which is the gift of God. The faith generated by the flesh must be continually supported by the flesh. But that faith which needs no support but lives on the bare promises is that faith which comes from God. NOT THE MAN, BUT THE MESSAGE
“But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed” (Gal. 1:23).
When Stephen was stoned to death for preaching Christ, he cried aloud as Christ did on the cross, “Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.” (Acts 7:60). Our Lord was merciful to one standing there holding the coats of the murders - Saul of Tarsus. Later, Paul would preach to those who heard of Stephen and what Paul had done to other children of God. But, through the mercies of God in Christ, they heard the message and not the man! “And they glorified God in me.” (Gal 1:24). Oh, that we could be kept from looking at the man, or the past transgressions, and glorify the workmanship of God in sinners that are saved from all their sins by the very same Grace we are! Believers Are Blessed Above All People
When reading the book of Psalms we often read about the people of the Lord and how they are singled out for special and spiritual blessings in the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:3). I found at least 7 times the Lord called His people, “Blessed is the man.”
Psalm 32:1-2; “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.”
Psalm 34:8; “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Psalm 40:4; “Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.”
Psalm 65:4; “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”
Psalm 84:5; “ Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.”
Psalm 94:12; “Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law.”
Psalm 112:1; “Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.”
Therefore every believer can say with David; “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies ( Psalm 103:1-4).
