“But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
The Spirit of God is the supernatural force and power. He drives out demons as He wills.
Someone said that they are both Calvinist and Arminian, but that can’t be. You can’t believe that God acts first and gives us all goodness, and then also believe that goodness originates with a sinful man. You can’t believe it’s not according to him that wills, and then also believe that it is. No, someone must act first. Someone must be responsible, and the Bible gives the trophy to God.
“So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.” --Rom 9:16
The Spirit of God forces Satan to leave his temple. He does not leave willingly, because of soft music. He leaves because the gospel comes with power, and he’s thrust out. Jesus takes him by the neck, throws him out, and sets up His kingdom in the sinner’s heart, giving him faith and love [1 Tim 1:14]. It is a work of grace entirely.
Therefore, let us be ABSOLUTELY confident and bold. Let us never look upon a man as unsavable, as if it is up to him. It doesn’t matter if we speak to Jews, Muslims, or atheists. It doesn’t matter if they are homosexuals or false prophets. It doesn’t matter if they are spiritually dead. When God lifts His finger, they will bow to Jesus Christ in all His teaching.
Let the gospel come with power. Let us rely upon the Spirit and not ourselves.
