If our doctrine is all forgiveness, election, and predestination, but there’s no imparted holiness and newness of life, then we deceive our hearers. Fornication and idolatry will be the result. If it’s all imputed righteousness, but you don’t have a righteous soul, vexed by evil, then you will fall into iniquity and stay there, like a dog returning to his vomit. You have rejected the holy commandment, which is a holy life by faith [2 Pet 2:21-22].
