“Coffee With Christ”
(Matthew 7:18-21)
“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
As with all fruit bearing trees, the only sure way to identify what type they are is by the fruit they bear! Just as fruit bearing trees are trees that bear fruit that is useable by humans and some animals, Christians are people who bear fruit that is useable by God. We bear it, but we do not produce it! It is the fruit of the Spirit which lives in us, not the fruit of the flesh which is all we are without Christ in the world. We as the branch simply cling to the vine (Jesus) and it is the power of the Spirit flowing through us that produces the likeness of Christ in our lives which is the fruit of the Spirit. Who’s Image are you reflecting by the fruit you bear? It will either be the likeness of Christ which is in you or the likeness of the world which you are in.

“Now the WORKS of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the FRUIT of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” |
