(Luke 6:46) “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
Why call ourselves a “Christ-ian” if we are not striving to be like Christ? Why call ourselves a disciple (follower) and not strive to follow His teachings? Why call Him LORD if we are not striving to bring ourselves into obedience to His word? The cross we are called to bear is heavy, but not as heavy as the one He bore for me! The yoke is easy and the burden light when we love Him.
(Luke 9:23-24) “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
