It’s #PrideMonth again and every kind of soul-damning, life-destroying, disgusting, sexual abomination is being celebrated by our Romans 1:18-32 culture. As I consider the Christian response to Pride Month, I’m reminded that the vast majority of Christians habitually sit, hear, and totally disregard, disobey, and defy the Great Commission because of their own sinful self-love and disgusting pride. What's more disgusting, proud sexual sin or proud evangelistic apathy? Far too many Christians, churches, and Christian conferences are described below:
"As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother, 'Please come and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.' So they come to you as people do, THEY SIT before you as My people, and THEY HEAR your words, but THEY DO NOT DO THEM; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them. And when this comes to pass — surely it will come — then they will know that a prophet has been among them." -Ezekiel 33:30-33
May God shut Christian mouths from endless, empty complaints about Pride Month, homosexuality, perversion, abortion, and every kind of evil advancing in our land. May God grant repentance of sinful self-love, disgusting pride, and gross Gospel apathy. May God grant sweet fruits of genuine repentance in His Church and individual Christian lives evidenced by a glorious revival of Great Commission obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ's standing command that compels Christians to SIT, HEAR, and OBEY God’s Word by STANDING UP and GOING THEREFORE to proclaim God’s Law and Gospel to perishing sinners everywhere.
May every #Pride Month remind every Christian that every month is #GreatCommissionMonth and that it's our self-love and pride that keeps us from loving Christ and loving sinners enough to actually SIT, HEAR, STAND, and GO THEREFORE. Judgment begins with the house of the Lord. Evangelistic apathy is a GREAT evil. Defying the Great Commission is a GREAT evil. If we won’t hear God’s evangelistic commands, stand, go, and speak God’s Law and Gospel to men, women, boys, and girls who are being drug down to Hell by their sins and Satan’s lies, we’ve forfeited the right to complain about Pride Month or any other evil advancing in our land. #GoTherefore
