In September, we kicked-off our Fall ministries including our Teen Group, Master’s Club, Home Schoolers group, Public School Bible studies at the Red Lion High School and Jr. High School, and much more. Master’s Club (for age 5-12) held their annual Bike Rodeo on Saturday, September 8th. Saturday, September 22nd, we set up a table at the Sam’s Club parking lot flea market and gave out over 100 free CDs and met many new folks. Our men’s worknight was well-attended accomplishing many repairs and much maintenance.
Our youth sponsored a fifth quarter activity after a Red Lion HS football game on September 28th. Over 80 attended with 61 from the public school. After Evangelist Eric Ramos preached, 5 of them received Christ as Savior. He also preached to the church youth at an extended youth activity on the 29th and to the whole church the next day. What a great weekend of activity and spiritual emphasis.
October 7th will end four weeks of split SS classes on: Parenting Teens, Young Couples, How to Study the Bible, The Holiness of God, Dealing with a lost or backslidden husband, and a study on the book of Ruth. October 14th we begin 6 weeks of Discipleship classes and 4 weeks of New to Mt. Zion class.
October 14th Keith Sweitzer (Pastor of Mt. Zion of Denver) will preach on Anniversary Sunday (celebrating Pastor and Shirley’s 17th year at Mt. Zion). 10 years ago, our church planted another church in Reamstown PA with Pastor Sweitzer. Their congregation of about 160 relocated to Denver PA, bought a KOA Campground, and renovated a building into a gorgeous facility.
In October, we will also have our annual, old-fashion Hayride and weiner roast for couples in our church. November is a youth trip to Fairhaven Baptist College and our annual 5-day Missionary Conference with 4 missionaries from around the world.
