Taking Dominion Through Wisdom - Day 17 The Security of Wisdom - Proverbs 1:32-33
We live in an age where there is a premium put on security. The security industry is a booming business these days. The question we need to ask ourselves - are we really secure? And - how many resources do we need to expend in order to secure ourselves against timeless principles such as - God is not mocked, a man will reap what he sows?
According to Dr. Solomon - the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them. The fool cannot protect himself from this timeless principle. There is a harvest time for the fool. They will reap the consequences of their rebellion. In other words, they are not safe nor will they ever find true security.
However, Wisdom calls us to dwell safely under her protection. Wisdom brings an inner calm to those who submit to her call. Think about it this way, what can anyone do to a person who is right with God? The only true source of security is to hearken to God's Word.
Before we leave Proverbs Chapter 1, ask yourself - do you have a sense of security? If not, then consider whether you have come under Wisdom's (remember Christ is wisdom from God I Cor. 1:24) protection. Wisdom never stops calling to people of all ages to submit to her and find peace and security. For those who laugh at such an idea, remember that God gets the last laugh! May God grant us a desire for wisdom
