Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel. Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. Psalm 69:6-7
Commit Thy Way Unto The Lord
“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass”(Psalm 37:5).
Some of you are having great trouble and are walking a rough way. It may seem to you right now that these sorrows are more than you can bear. Indeed, they ARE more than you can bear; but you do not have to bear them alone. David said, “Commit thy way unto the Lord”, and Peter wrote, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
You have committed your soul to Him; then you can surely trust Him with your home, children, and business. These things are far inferior to your immortal soul. He has promised us troubles in this world, but not without HIS SUFFICIENT GRACE to carry us through them.

ITCHING EARS
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Tim. 4:3-4).
This time has come. I am amazed at the things that naturally bright and intelligent men and women will sit and listen to today. People will flock to hear a man who claims to have gone to heaven and returned with stories to tell after being revived on the operating table. Men and women are simply fascinated by such sensationalism but are not interested in the plain and simple teaching of redemption in and by the perfect righteousness of Christ. They will not endure sound doctrine. Men and women will fill auditoriums to heap to themselves teachers who tell them how God desires for all to be healthy and wealthy, but they have turned away their ears from the truth to hear these fables. Paul tells us this is caused by their own lusts. Men want God to be who and what they desire Him to be, but they do not desire God to be who and what He is. I speak of those who have nothing but itching ears. Pastor David L. Eddmenson
Grace And Mercy
It is by the grace of God that any sinner has been everlastingly loved in Christ, chosen in Christ, redeemed by Christ, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. It is by the mercy of God, for Christ’s sake, that we are forgiven for the sins that we daily commit while struggling in this present evil world.

UNLESS…
“UNLESS thy law had been my delights, I should then
have perished in mine afflictions”(Psalm 119:92).
The psalmist’s life, for the most part, was a life of trials and afflictions. He knew the grief of being pursued by enemies, betrayed and forsaken by friends, and worst of all, he bore the grief of his own sins and sinfulness in his conscience before God. He knew what he was! And to some degree every believer can identify with the psalmist in his trials and afflictions.
It is very instructive to note how the psalmist persevered through his trials and afflictions. If I may paraphrase the verse above, the psalmist is simply saying, ‘I could not have made it without the Word of God!’ The promises of his faithful God were his “delight” amidst his afflictions and sorrows. When all other comforts failed, he had the spiritual comfort of the words of his great and gracious God. When he may have otherwise despaired, he was reassured and strengthened by the promises of his God.
When the heart of a believer stands in need of enlivening and reviving, nothing but the Word of God can uplift him. Not all the gold and silver in the world, not even his Christian friends, but the Word of God alone can cheer and gladden the afflicted and sorrowful soul. No wonder the psalmist said, “O how I love thy law.” And, “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth” (Psalm 119:97, 103).
How necessary, how precious, how essential is the Word of God to true believers. Those who can “make it” without the Word of God are still in the darkness of nature. They can “make it” because they are not in the battle!
