“We recognise that for some people there is a difference between the sex they were assigned at birth (female/male) and their gender identity.”

In fact, let us focus down even more to the astonishing phrase “sex they were assigned at birth”.

I have noticed that this concept has only recently appeared on the public stage, but it is being treated here as something that is both established and as acceptable to all. In fact, despite being highly questionable, and, without doubt, ideological, it would appear to be assumed to be correct and normal. We are being strong armed to go along with it. Resistance is difficult. Proof is absent.

The Big Idea

Throughout history, when a baby is born, its sex has been determined by its genitalia. “Congratulations it’s a…” is the universal phrase. Is it that what is now being said is, that genitalia are only a temporary means of establishing gender, until something else happens? Presumably that “something else” being the intrusion into primary schools of the transgender movement to persuade children to choose their gender apart from biological considerations at around the age of 6? Well, yes, but it goes even further than that. To say that sex as determined by genitalia, is temporary, is one thing, but here we are being told that sex is not even determined by genitalia, but is “assigned”. By this is meant that someone other than the new child decides what the gender is. This may have nothing to do with genitals at all. It comes from someone else, maybe the parents, but may be entirely independent of biology.

The important point here is the absolute playing down of the role of genitalia in determining sex or gender. To the transgender movement, I think that biological sex is becoming less real all the time, and psychological feelings about oneself are becoming the new reality. I have spoken to school children who tell me that they are taught at school, that the only difference between men and women is anatomical as if anatomical differences were a trivial matter. Now the transgender movement is making anatomy of very little significance. Anatomy is, in fact, of considerable significance.

I must interject at this point, and say as a Bible believing Christian that, when God made us “male and female in His image”, He did so in such a way that anatomy was an instant determining factor. This is of massive importance, but in the minds of the transgender brigade it seems to be almost irrelevant. So much is it irrelevant, that I think that were I to ask them “what is a woman?” I might well get the reply “a woman is a person who thinks they are a woman”. I suspect that I would then not get a reply to the next logical question which arises, which is “what does it actually mean that a person thinks that they are a woman?”

So what we have here is the possibility that a baby might have male genitalia and its mother might call it a girl; an assigned gender, at birth. Then when the child reaches an appropriate age, it can decide its own gender. Genitals have very little to do with this process. This is how I understand the idealogy being commanded by the Civil Service in Northern Ireland.

In short, without the giving of any evidence, employees are expected to understand, agree with, and comply with this doctrine. Yes it is a doctrine, an ideology. What if they had said everyone has to be a Muslim, or a Christian in order to get work? That would be ideological tyranny and would exclude anyone who did not hold those beliefs. Now we have the same thing here. Employees must believe that gender is fluid, that a person can be trapped in the wrong body, or that a person can change sex, or they are unfit to work because they cannot sign the Code of Conduct. This is indeed ideological tyranny. Almost everyone that I have spoken to does not believe that a person can change sex. How can they just go along with this?

When, in 2018, I was sacked by the Department for Work and Pensions for refusing to call a hypothetical man “Mrs” and define them using the pronoun “she”, they asked me what they could do to persuade me to do the work? I replied that they would have to “provide absolute proof that a person can change sex”. Needless to say no effort was made to do this. So despite saying that they believe that everyone should be free to express themselves as they are, they do not permit those who are not believers in their unproven, transgender religion to express themselves, simply by the asking of oh so very reasonable questions. This is certainly tyranny of a religious nature. Transgenderism has become a religion. An intolerant religion.

The power of pronouns

“He” and “she” are words of immense power. I tried to use them the way that I, and everyone that I know always has, at the Department for Work and Pensions, and for that I got the sack. What crime did I commit? Well, in the modern climate, I suppose someone might have reported it as a hate crime.

The truth is that, when pronouns are used in the new way, they cease to have any meaning. The final result will not be the planned transgender/gender fluid heaven on earth, but the anonymising and dehumanising of us all. So fundamental is being either male or female, to our identity as human beings who are made by God in His image, that the new use of pronouns is utterly dehumanising to us. To all of us, that is. There is only one possible real outcome of all this, and that is that we become sub-human, and then we are simply the slaves of whoever happens to have control, whether that be bankers, politicians, or whoever. Ultimately this is Satan’s plan to dehumanise and destroy us all. It is important to remember that in this case, every single one of us becomes a victim of a false ideology and that includes transgender people as much as everyone else. That leads to my personal conviction that transgender people are being used for the purposes of a hidden, secret, deeper plan to enslave us all. Most of us have heard of Cultural Marxism by now.

Now I am a medical practitioner. Sometimes I misgender my patients. Usually this is because they no longer wear the clothes that I expect to see. I am talking about babies under the age of one, who have traditionally worn pink or blue, but now not so often. It is hard to tell the sex of a baby. But when it comes to adults I never make mistakes according to biological sex, even though they are fully dressed. Pronouns are there to define what we see, and the differences apart from genitals are still obvious.

I once had an unconscious patient who was, shall we say, clearly biologically female. The nurse in charge shouted at me that I had to refer to the patient as “him”. This illustrates the problem. What happens when pronouns are no longer used intuitively according to our life experiences and what we actually see all the time? Well now we can no longer tell what gender a person is. Perhaps we will then face the sack or even be charged with a hate crime? Absurd!

Some reading this will be aware of an industrial tribunal that took place in which, I took that Department for Work and Pensions to court, and lost. Interestingly, I notice that Judge Perry, who ran the case, did not use pronouns at all during the case, except once, when he referred to a witness as “he”. He immediately corrected himself saying “Oh dear I used a pronoun, does the witness…” This means, that taken to its logical conclusion, I cannot even assume that Judge Perry is male, and I should have been obliged to ask him what his gender pronoun is before continuing my own witness statement. Such a thought is also absurd! How can we possibly take the law seriously if we cannot even speak to one another naturally?

The implications for Christians and others

The Civil Service Code of Conduct presents as a new religion sponsored by the State, and you must believe it, or face ruin. That is the only way that I can honestly put things. Many, of course will go along with this demanded behaviour to keep their employment, but what about Christians?

We ought to remember that those pushing this ideology don’t really care what we believe as long as we do what they say. They know that if we behave contrary to our beliefs, our beliefs cannot stand, but must change to the new paradigm, and so we need to be extremely careful not to behave in a manner contrary to the Gospel. They care about what we do more than about what we think.

I have said many times that, when I was asked if I would use transgender pronouns, I felt deep within, that the real question was “Will you walk with Jesus, or will you walk away from Him?” To do the latter would be unthinkable, but I was weak, and to do the former required a strength that came only from the Throne of Grace.

The new guidelines from the Civil Service in Northern Ireland, require a belief and a stance which negates a Christian profession. That is how serious it really is. We must choose who we want to serve. To work for that institution now, you have to accept their ideology.

When my children were young I warned them that, even if they became doctors, or engineers, times were coming in which they would not be able to get a job even as a toilet cleaner, if they did not openly subscribe to state sponsored false religion. That is what we are seeing now. You cannot honestly get a job as a toilet cleaner in the Civil Service unless you subscribe to their ideology. Even if you have a PhD! The transgender movement has become that state sponsored false religion. This may well spread to every kind of employment organisation, and so we need to be very sure in our hearts that we are determined and settled to be on the Lord’s side. That is a beautiful thing!

Finally, I believe that the days will come when my profession, that is the medical profession, will bow in shame that it failed to stop this false movement right in its tracks. Sadly I believe that, until that time, there will be many whose lives are irrevocably ruined by the things that are taking place.
