He is able to save to the uttermost them that come to God by Him. (Hebrews 7:25)
It is interesting to note that the one to whom the words in Luke were addressed was the only one who COULD save Himself . . . and He is also the only One who has NEVER tried to save Himself. We sons of Adam are utterly incapable of saving ourselves, but are always trying. But the One who could DID NOT, so that we who CANNOT might be saved by Him.
