There is a core principle here that would be helpful to understand. The wicked hate the righteous because they fear them. Fear breeds hatred, and the wicked know in their souls that the things they do are wrong. They hate that this is the way of things, they writhe under the hand of God's law, but they still know... and when they see the righteous doing what is right, all they feel is fear, hatred, despite, anger... these dark emotions and so many more rise up in them that they are driven to more and more wickedness. It is useless for us to bemoan their unjust hatred of us, it is eternally harmful for us to forsake the way of righteousness in order to make them accept us. So what is there for us to do? Keep on obeying God. As David went in and out before the people, he was doing the things put in front of him with faithfulness, righteousness and integrity. He was fulfilling his role as a leader of God's people. Saul hated him for it, but God honored him and the people of God loved him. Dear one, never stop obeying God because of the hatred of the wicked... keep honoring, keep loving, keep obeying. Let God deal with the rest!! His blessing will rest upon those who love and obey Him.
