Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life. The one God has revealed Himself, fully and bodily, in Him.

Not to believe this is to be under the wrath of God (John 3:36), and is not to see life or live.

Those who do not believe in this one true God, Jesus, will have other gods, idols, instead of Jesus.

In this present pandemic this idolatry is evident. Science. Government. Man. These are the saviors, these are the gods. And humanity is scampering after them, falling before them instead of following, trusting, bowing before Jesus.

It will not be long, however, before one god out of all the other idols will show himself to be better than other gods, better than the zeusian best, and who, in fact, will claim to be better than Jesus--a new Jesus, just man’s kind of god and savior, an improved upon version of the Jesus and Christ of the Bible.

We know his title, given in Scripture. It is Antichrist. All the other idols that were ever made and worshiped before partake of the lying spirit of Antichrist. But there is an Antichrist who comes in the latter days in the form of a man, a political-religious president and pontiff.

He is the devil’s great man among men. That is why Antichrist is called “the man of sin,” and “the son of perdition”

who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God (2 Thessalonians 2: 3, 4).

Satan’s great last days’ henchman, is also called “the lawless one” who comes according to the working of Satan,

with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved (2 Thessalonians 2: 9, 10)

Antichrist will pretend to be the true God, Jesus the Christ. He is “anti” God and Christ, in the sense of coming “in the place of Christ.” He deceives, even those who call themselves Christians, so that they think Antichrist is the real God and Savior.

Antichrist will also be threatening. The imposter who comes “in the place of Christ” will be against (anti, opposed to) Christ and true Christians. You must bear his mark, 666, the number of Man (Revelation 13), and be a disciple, therefore, of this great devil-man amongst men, or you cannot buy or sell. You must believe him and not the true Jesus. You must love him, and not love the Jesus of the cross and of grace.

Beloved, keep yourselves from idols, and from the Antichrist idol--in this pandemic, and always.

Antichrist is coming. But so is the real Jesus Who will destroy him and his with the breath of His mouth, and the very brightness of His glorious coming ( 2 Thessalonians 2:8).

Love, believe, and worship the Jesus revealed in Scripture, and love and believe His truth.

Be found, by faith, in Him, our great God, our Savior, the cure of sin, our perfect peace.
