You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3). Christ is our peace (Ephesians 2:14). He is our perfect peace. Through Him we sinners have peace with God, reconciliation and restoration to His fellowship.
Jesus Christ is our peace for He has made peace through the blood of His cross (Colossians 1:20). He was Isaiah’s Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and He is ours…
Jesus is our peace, and He gives peace like no other in the whole world (John 14:27).
Peace He is, even in a pandemic. Even when all the world is in a panic.
But how? How so that we know it, how so that peace in Jesus is in us?
Listen to the prophet.
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Peace, perfect peace is in Christ. It is ours, personally, and we are kept in it, guarded so that no one and nothing can interfere with our peace, in this way: in our keeping our mind on Jehovah God, and in our trusting Him.
Faith. That is the God-given personal access we have to peace with God and perfect peace within.
In truly believing God we are peaceful, calm, knowing all is well in heaven and in our soul.
This believing, this peace in believing, not only in foxholes, but in corona virus pandemics, in the middle of a terrible divorce, in your mid-twenties and no mate in sight, and
anytime, anywhere God is Who He says He is: the God of peace
This trusting involves thinking. It is mindful faith, faith mindful, thinking always, of God.
Our faith is not some “mystical faith,” a leaving of your mind at the door as you enter fellowship with God; it is not ignorance-is-the-mother-of-our-devotion faith; is not liberalism’s having such an open mind about God and Jesus and salvation and righteousness and how many genders so that every thing… falls out.
We think. We think on the Word of God revealed in the Bible. On God revealed there.
On the sovereign God, over all, a most worthy Captain to entrust our lives with, and to follow.
The wise God, the loving Father, the faithful Savior Who keeps no distance, social or otherwise, from all who trust in Him—strange ordinances of governors and corona killing viruses notwithstanding, or ever standing…in His way.
For such a time as this.
