This is what we must do: Compel them to come in.

We cannot simply preach, but we must plead and pray to God. We can’t simply state facts; we must DESIRE salvation. You’d plead with a man about other things, but when it comes to his eternal soul, we’re cold and calculating, as if election forbids tears and predestination dries up entreaty! It is wrong: We must yell, persuade, and beg; we must weep, enlighten, and illustrate! We must use everything.

In eternity, it will not look like we tried too hard to save others. No one in hell will say, “They pleaded with me too much.” We’ll look upon no expense and no effort as greater than a soul. We’ll give our all to it now, if we are wise.

Away with the coldness and calculated reasoning. We are not more sovereign grace than Paul.
