But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:10-11
After the morning service we will observe the Lord’s Table and enjoy lunch together.
Justified by Faith
The account in Romans of how Abraham was justified and received righteousness by faith was not recorded for his sake alone nor applicable only to him, but it is by faith that every believer is justified and sanctified. Righteousness shall be imputed to us, as well as to Abraham, IF WE BELIEVE GOD, who is identified in Romans 4:23-25 by the fact that He raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
To believe in salvation is not to believe only in the existence of God, but to believe on Him in regard to His gospel! Saving faith involves the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, who was promised of God, sent by God, bruised by God, raised by God, and seated victoriously on the Father’s right hand.

SACRIFICE WITHOUT LOVE
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.” (1Co 13:1-3).
Any sinner can see our doctrine is in the Bible. He can give mental assent and profess to believe, even appear to have all faith. Before men he may preach or make great sacrifices which appear to be for the cause of Christ and the furtherance of the gospel. But if God has not created love in his heart then everything he does is profitless because it is from an impure motive. Any sinner can do those things. But only God can give love in the heart. Motive is the all-important matter with God. God only accepts that which is produced from the motive of love from the heart because “…The LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart” (1 Sa 16: 7).

To be saved from sins is to be saved from ignoring and despising the authority of God. It is to abandon the course of self-will and self-pleasing. It is to forsake our way; it is to surrender to God’s authority; it is to yield to His dominion; it is to give ourselves over to be ruled by Him. One who has never taken Christ’s yoke upon himself and who is not truly seeking to please Him in all details of life and yet supposing he is resting in Christ is deceived.

CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures”(1 Corinthians 15:3).
The gospel is not just that Christ died. The gospel is how that He died for us according to God’s eternal and immutable decree, “the scriptures” (Acts 2:23: Revelation 13:8).
• The scriptures declare that His death was appointed (Genesis 3:15; 22:8; Psalm 22; Psalm 69; Matthew 16:21; Galatians 4:4).
• The scriptures declare that His death was voluntary, He willingly laid down His life for us (Isaiah 53:7; John 10:17-18).
• The scriptures declare that His death was substitutionary (Isaiah 53:4-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18).
• The scriptures declare that His death was to accomplish definite atonement for His people (Isaiah 53:8; Matthew 1:21; John 10:15; Hebrews 2:17).
• The scriptures declare that His death satisfied all the demands of God’s holy Law (Isaiah 42:21; 53:10-12; Daniel 9:24; Rom. 4:25).
• The scriptures declare that His death was most effectual to put away all the sin of the covenant people (Psalm 103:12; Isaiah 38;17; Micah 7:18-20; Hebrews 9:26; 10:17; 1 John 1:7).
Every pledge of salvation has its accomplishment in the Lord Jesus Christ: “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Corinthians 1:21). All that God has promised concerning salvation in Christ is certain and sure: “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform” (Romans 4:21).
