"Trusting God" Proverbs 3:5-6 and Psalm 5 & 28 There should be nothing easier to implement than our trust in God as we are dependant creatures. Often churches are full in times of stress, but also empty in affluence. There is nothing more liberating than to put your trust in God however! How wonderful to be able to trust in God...yet sometimes our eyes are like Gahazi and we need our eyes awakened and opened.
Warning: "Do not lean on your own understanding!" We must first acknowledge God! By nature we are like children. (Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child.) We too have foolishness bound up in our heart! The Lord has hid what the future holds for us and He has set up a delicate balance so we live in dependence in the palm of His hand (the balance of being in His palm with the uncertainty of the future that meet us in the present.) We have to deal with the Almighty's council....the will of God and our responsibility to live as a christian and to seek His will. God's will is not entirely secret however. There is secret and there is revealed will to us as He relayed to Abraham as the secret of His will is "with His people!" An established covenant with HIs people as they are the apple of His eye, His workmanship, as ALL things work for those whom He calls, etc. In all our ways that we are discussing and we are solemnly warned "do NOT lean unto thy own understanding!" Man proposes but God disposes! How foolish to lean unto our own understanding as we cannot even change a hair on our heads. Man has some understanding...true...but this Word of God comes to us (not the world) as we fight against our human nature (the old man) and says "do NOT lean on your own understanding!" How often do we tell our own children not to worry? How often does God say that about you and me? He bought us in the blood of His own Son, holds the planets in their circuits, and He has it all in the palm of His hand!
Admonition: Acknowledge God! Ignore NOT God..but in ALL your ways acknowledge God! Don't sideline or put away. 1. Acknowledge that HE IS! and 2. That we are and have what we have for the glory of His name! 3. Acknowledge who we are...dependant creatures who rely on God for EVERYTHING!
Assurance: When we acknowledge Him in everything in our life we will seek His advice as we take the Word of God in hand and ask the questions we have on the struggles in our lives. The Word of God will dictate to us and will lead us in a way. It takes study and work! Stay close to the Word of God and make it a vital part of your life! You even notice that maps are often tattered? Ask the Lord to let us listen and TRUST in Him! Something so natural becomes so difficult to implement because of the carnality of life. "Trust and obey for there is no other way!" (Sound familiar?!)
To trust in God who is omniscient, omnipotent, and a Redeemer who withholds nothing, He will direct thy path and will open doors for us showing us new vistas of hope that we have not seen being so caught up in ourselves. And He will NEVER put us to shame leading you through all things all the way to GLORY!
People of God- "Trust and Obey...for there is NO other way!"
