We are voting today as to whether or not we will commit regular financial support for Gospel missions in Malawi, Africa. We should all vote our consciences and do so prayerfully.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US ON OUR TRIP
As many of you already know, Debbie and I, along with our daughter-in-law, Alissa, and our grandsons, Aiden and Neil, will be (the Lord willing) traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii, for a time of vacation and a time of preaching and fellowship with our brethren who live there. We plan to fly from Atlanta to Honolulu this Wednesday, March 6, and return to Albany on Saturday, March 16. While there we plan to relax and do some sight-seeing, but we will also be in worship services with our brethren. I will be preaching for them on Sunday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 13. Please keep us in your prayers, and pray for the men who will preside over our services here on March 10. —Pastor Bill Parker
God displays His character and attributes in the manner in which He saves. To reject any aspect of His salvation is to reject some aspect of His character. To fail to confess any aspect of His salvation is to fail to confess Who He is. Error in doctrine or failure to preach doctrine is more than a mistake! It is a denial of and failure to confess Christ!

The house that is built partly on a rock and partly on the sand will fall, and the sinner who rests his hope of salvation partly on Christ and partly on his own works will be damned. —Augustus Toplady
“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” (Romans 11:5-6)
THREE GLORIOUS TRUTHS
“He sent redemption unto His people: He hath commanded His covenant for ever: holy and reverend is His name.” (Psalm 111:9)
Salvation is truly a glorious and marvelous thing. But its glory does not lie in our contributions and efforts. All glory resides in what God alone does for and gives to us by sovereign grace through the Lord Jesus Christ. Consider:
God “sent redemption unto His people.” This is the GROUND of salvation accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ for the people the Father gave to Him before the world began. As their Surety, Substitute, and Redeemer, Christ obeyed unto the death of the cross to redeem them from sin. He paid the full price of redemption with His own precious blood. He alone secured their full salvation by the merit of His one sacrifice for sin – “For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified” (Heb. 10:14). It is because of this redemption by Christ that all of His people “receive the adoption of sons” (Gal. 4:5). It is because we are His sons that “God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Gal. 4:6).
God “hath commanded His covenant for ever.” This is the SOURCE of salvation which is the everlasting covenant of grace made between God the Father and God the Son before the world began. God determined to save a people of His choice and gave them to His Son. Christ was made the Surety of this covenant as all of the responsibility of our salvation was conditioned upon Him. The redemption that He accomplished for us on the cross was the fulfillment of all the conditions of this covenant of grace. His righteousness insures the salvation and eternal life of all whom the Father gave Him.
“Holy and reverend is His name”– This is the FRUIT of salvation which is the glory of God. God’s name has always been holy and reverend in Himself, but this glory is in the matter of the salvation of His people based on the merits of the obedience unto death of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the death of Christ for His people, we see every attribute of God honored and glorified as He is both a JUST GOD and a SAVIOR. Because of the death of Christ as the Surety, Substitute, and Redeemer of His people, He gives life to them by glorifying God within their hearts (2 Cor. 4:6). “And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent” (John 17:3).
