When an obstacle is in your way, the Lord wants to give you wisdom to get you past that obstacle in an unexpected way. You may think, “I’m just going to overcome this obstacle the same way everyone else overcomes this.” But maybe the Lord has a special way that you would have never thought of to get past this obstacle in your life.

What is the first thing you should do when you come to an obstacle? Talk to the Lord about it; pray. Prayer is the place that we start, and prayer is the place where we need to stay. Prayer is simply us acknowledging God’s power. When you pray, you’re saying, “Lord, I’m not good at this; I’m not going to be able to do this on my own.”

Prayer is also acknowledging God’s wisdom – that He understands this problem far better than you, and He knows what you can do to overcome it. Prayer also acknowledges God’s compassion. By praying, you are saying that He cares about what you have to say and what you are facing.

He wants to hear from you all the time, but especially when you have a need. Prayer is the most important thing because when you pray, you are acknowledging God’s power, God’s wisdom, and the fact that God cares about you.

Sometimes, you might not understand why He answers the way He answers, but still pray anyways, trusting Him. Pray while looking for His wisdom and pray acknowledging that He cares about you.
