“But I will sacrifice unto Thee with the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay that that I have vowed.
Salvation is of the LORD.”
Jonah 2:9

Reigning Grace
Author: Unknown
Tune: Majestic Sweetness
1. Now may the Lord reveal His face,
And teach our stamm'ring tongues
To make His sovereign, reigning grace
The subject of our songs. The subject of our songs.
2. No sweeter subject can invite
A sinner's heart to sing,
Or more display the glorious right
Of our exalted King. Of our exalted King.
3. Grace reigns to pardon crimson sins,
To melt the hardest hearts;
And from the work it once begins,
It never once departs. It never once departs.
4. 'Twas grace that called our souls at first,
By grace thus far we're come;
And grace will help us through the worst,
And lead us safely home. And lead us safely home.

Pity and Pray For the Preacher
Pity us (the preacher). We are not angels, but men of like passions with yourselves. Be more full of love than criticism. We have enough troubles dealing with ourselves, along with trying to help you in your troubles. We have all the difficulties which you have, and some you are not acquainted with (temptations and trials only ministers have).
Help us in our work. If you can do anything, help us. What can you do? O, a great deal. Just be a believer, and we will rejoice. Seeing you in Heaven will be our joy and rejoicing.
Pray for us. How often and how earnestly doth Paul beg the prayers of the churches! And if he did so, much more do we need your prayers . . . for our necessities and weaknesses are greater than Paul's.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” --Robert Trail

God’s Most Hated Attribute!
“Our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased!” Psalm 115:3
“The LORD does whatever pleases Him, throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths!” Psalm 135:6
“All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as He pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth.” Daniel 4:35
On the other hand, there is no doctrine more hated by worldlings, as the great, stupendous - but yet most certain - doctrine of the Sovereignty of the infinite Jehovah!
Men will allow God to be everywhere except on His throne!
- They will allow Him to be in His workshop to fashion worlds and make stars.
- They will allow Him to be in His almonry to dispense His alms and bestow His bounties.
- They will allow Him to sustain the earth and bear up the pillars thereof, or light the lamps of Heaven, or rule the waves of the ever-moving ocean.
But when God ascends His throne, then His creatures gnash their teeth! And when we proclaim an enthroned God, and His right to do as He wills with His own, to dispose of His creatures as He thinks well, without consulting them in the matter - then it is that we are hissed and execrated (cursed), and then it is that men turn a deaf ear to us - for God on His throne is not the God they love!
No doctrine in the whole Word of God has more excited the hatred of mankind, than the truth of the absolute sovereignty of God! Opposition to divine sovereignty is essentially atheism - and were it not for sovereign grace, none of us would ever have followed the path to Heaven. I am daily more and more convinced that the difference between one man and another is, not the difference between his use of his will - but the difference of grace that has been bestowed upon him.
“Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth!” Revelation 19:6
