Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:13-14
“The Wrath to Come” (1 Thess. 1:10)
God poured out His wrath upon the old world and destroyed all mankind except those who were in the Ark with Noah. God poured out His wrath upon His Son, when He died upon the cross bearing the sins of His people.
Some may persuade themselves that He has no more wrath to pour out, but they deceive themselves.
The apostle assures us in this Scripture that He still has wrath to pour out, there is still “wrath to come.” Upon whom will it come? Just as his wrath was poured out upon all who were not in the ark, so it will be poured out upon all those who are not in Christ.
There is one refuge and one only to flee to from the wrath to come, and that is God’s Son, who is the only Savior of sinners.

Isaiah 9:6
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.”
It is a fact there was a child born of woman, made under the law to redeem sinners. It is a fact that a Son is given. As the Son of God, He is not born but given! He is begotten – not made. But the question is, “Is this child born to us? Is this Son given to us?”
1). He is born to us IF WE ARE BORN TO HIM. Let no man say that Christ is his redeemer if he has not been born again of God’s Spirit. Only regenerated persons can claim a union with this child.
2). He is given to us IF WE ARE GIVEN TO HIM. “All that my Father giveth me shall come to me” (Jn. 6:37). “Behold I and the children which God hath given me” (Heb. 2:13). God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Christ. He chose us in Christ. He chose us in Christ because He would populate heaven with a people like Christ, and all of this according to the good pleasure of His will (Eph. 1:3-5).
3). This Son is given to us IF WE ARE SONS. The Son of God is not mine to enjoy, to love, and to delight in if I am not a son of God, too. If you can call God “Father” you can lay claim to a joint heirship with Christ (Jn. 1:12).

As Becometh The Saints
“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not once be named among you, as becometh saints.” (Eph.5:3).
Sin is so unbecoming, unseemly in a saint of God. Sin is the reason Christ died! Sin is the reason there is a hell! No sin is acceptable in the life of the believer! And it is even uglier to excuse sin or fail to take responsibility for it. It is equally true we must say with David, “My sin is ever before me” (Psalm 51:3).There is never a time when that is not the cry of our heart! How thankful we are for the prayer the Lord taught us to pray. “Forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil” (Luke 11:4).
All of these words have to do with sin! Pastor Todd Nibert
Exceeding Great And Precious Promises (2 Peter 1:3-4)
There are many sweet and exceeding great and precious promises given to the Lord’s people. But none are sweeter than what the Lord Jesus Christ says concerning our sin and how He made complete satisfaction for them with His precious blood. Look at these precious promises again.
Psalm 103:10-12…He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Isaiah 38:17…Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
Isaiah 44:22-23…I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it.
Jeremiah 50:20…In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.
Micah 7:19-20…He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob.
Matthew 1:21…And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Romans 4:7-8… Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Heb. 10:17-18…And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
1 John 1:9-10…If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John 4:10… Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Yes, the Lord’s people are a sinful people and full of iniquity (Isa. 1:5-6; Rom. 7:24-25) but do not despair, thanks be unto God; the Lord Jesus Christ came to save sinners. Oh what a glorious God and Saviour we have (Matt. 9:13; Luke 19:10; 1 Tim. 1:15).
