The apostle Paul writing to the Galatians, stated that if he should seek to please men, he could not be the servant of Christ, Galatians 1:10.

How do many self-appointed preachers seek to please men, doing despite to the Inspired Word of God and therefore to the Spirit of Grace, Hebrews 10:29? To change the Message and preach any other than the single, solitary, Christ exalting Message of HIM crucified (redemption, justification, sanctification, and glorification in, by, and through His righteous obedience unto death alone), is to be ‘accursed,’ Galatians 1:9. Not only does it condemn the one preaching an altered message, but holds the hearers of such a message in condemnation.

So distinct is the Word of God from the reasoning of men, it is little wonder that those who are saved by God’s sovereign work of Grace in Christ Jesus are spoken against by those who are yet in darkness and condemnation, professing salvation by their supposed ‘free-will’. They stand opposed to Christ, the friend of sinners, because they have never been made to see their lost estate; being dead in trespasses and sins. This was the case in Christ’s day as well. Consider the condemnation of the self-righteous against the adulteress woman, Luke 7:39 or of Zacchaeus the publican in Luke 19:7.

The hymn writer describes it succinctly in the song ‘Come Ye Sinners Poor and Needy’stating, ‘Not the righteous, NOT the righteous, SINNERS Jesus came to save.’ The apostle Paul, writing the Inspired Word of God, affirms that it is a ”…faithful saying, and worthy of ALL acceptation that Jesus Christ came into the world to save SINNERS, of whom I am chief.” (1 Timothy 1:15) As one preacher of old declared, "I AM a great sinner, but I have a Great Savior."
