As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
Psalm 18:3-33
Here I Stand
Here I stand, I can do no other! Let others waver, compromise, or cover; but I preach what Spurgeon, Luther, Calvin, Augustine, Paul, the apostles, and the prophets preached; “Salvation is of the Lord.”
Christ died in the stead of His people; and, as God is just, He will not and cannot punish one soul of Adam’s race for whom Christ died. There is not one sin in the book of God against any believer. Our sins were laid on Him, the law is honored, the justice of God satisfied; and, inasmuch as sin condemned Him, sin cannot condemn us!
This is my hope, comfort, and my security; that all my sins, transgressions, and iniquities were atoned for before they were even committed! This, indeed, is good news for the guilty!

“But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God…’ (Galatians 4:9).
Since knowing God is spiritual, eternal life (John 17:2; I John 5:20), can anything be greater or more wonderful? Yes, when you consider the eternal purpose of God in the covenant of grace; when you consider cause and effect in the sinner’s salvation, it is more comforting to be known of God. You see, just as the sinner loves God because God loved him first, even so, he knows God because he was first known of God in electing love and grace. I find this to be very comforting to my soul.
Lately, I have noticed that my memory is not nearly as good as it used to be. I find it hard to recall sermons that I heard only a short while ago, and very difficult to remember people’s names; and this leads me to wonder if there may come a time when, through the natural deterioration of sin, I become incapable of loving God, worshipping God, calling upon God, clinging to God, and confessing Him publicly – will my hope of salvation and heaven be forfeited? No, not at all, because my salvation is of the Lord. He will never forget those whom He knows, those whom He chose, those for whom Christ died, those whom He calls and converts to Christ by His Spirit and grace. “He will never leave me nor forsake me.” (Romans 8:28-39).Pastor Maurice Montgomery
The only way a person can be accepted by God is by having a perfect sacrifice. The sacrifice is of God’s own providing. The Lord Jesus Christ is the sacrifice that God has provided, and what He provides, He will accept.
If you persist in working with the hope of being saved by your doing, let me warn you one more time that you are running after a scheme which God has solemnly declared He will never accept. “By the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in His sight.”
Pastor Scott Richardson
The Lord Our God That We Worship
The Lord our God that we worship has not left us to guess about His holy character or righteous attributes. The whole testimony of Holy Scripture is given to reveal unto us our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Consider these many scriptures that declare unto the God and Saviour that we worship and who we trust for all our salvation.
Psalm 68:20; “He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.”
Romans 15:5; “Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.”
Romans 15:13; “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:33; “Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.”
Romans 16:20: “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”
2 Cor. 1:3; “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.”
2 Cor. 13:11; “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.”
1 Peter 5:10; “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
The Lord our God has provided for us a perfect God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. What a great privilege is given unto us by the Lord’s eternal purpose and grace to have the precious gift of faith; to trust Him for all our salvation. The Lord our God would have us to always look unto Him and be saved. That is what saving faith does, it looks only to the Lord Jesus Christ. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 12:2). “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:22).
