Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.Psalm 13:3-6
Keep a Cow Yourself
Have you heard the story of the Irishman who was converted to Christ and whose priest told him that he had better not read the Bible because he was unlearned? The priest said, “I will get the milk of the Word and bring it to you.” To which the Irishman replied, “I will be much obliged to you, sir, if you will bring me the milk of the Word; but, I intend to keep a cow myself. That way I will be sure to get the milk PURE.”
That is what I want you to do, keep a cow yourself; carry a Bible with you and see whether the milk you are receiving from the pulpit is PURE! You can trust your body to physicians and your finances to brokers and not suffer too great a loss if they are wrong but, to trust your eternal soul to a preacher and find out in the end that his was ANOTHER GOSPEL is to lose eternally.
“Search the Scriptures daily, whether these things are so” (Acts 17:11). Pastor Henry T. Mahan (bulletin 1984)
WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GO?
I constantly try to drive home this point to our hearts: Go to Christ! Yet there are many who still will not go to Christ. I ask you this question: where else can you go? Where else can you go for forgiveness of your sin? It is “the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (I John 1:7) Where else can you go for salvation? “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) Where else can you go for righteousness? “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Gal. 2:21) Where else can you go for the water of life? “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” (John 7:37) Where else can you go for the way of salvation, the truth of God, and eternal life? “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Where else can you go to receive the promises of God’s grace? “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (II Cor. 1:20) Where else can you go for comfort of salvation and defense for your soul? “He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 62:6) My friend, go to Christ because Christ is ALL. Christ is all to the Father and Christ is all you will ever need. Now go to Him. Where else can you go?

“That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:31).
What do believers glory in when they glory in the Lord? They glory in His holiness. (Ex. 24:15-17) They glory in His grace. (Lev. 9:22, 23) And they glory in His mercy (2 Chron.7:1-3).
What is the greatest display of the glory of the Lord’s holiness, grace, and mercy that the world has ever seen, and could ever know? The Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary! Holiness demanded a sacrifice for sin. Grace provided one, and Mercy poured the Blood of that sacrifice all over the sinners that God chose to save! “God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord
Jesus Christ” (Gal. 6:14). Pastor Gabe Stalnaker
Hell Is Not The Issue.
Many, so called preachers, especially Baptist preachers, make much of the place called hell. To them, salvation is all about heaven and hell. The issue of salvation has nothing to do with a place. The real issue is, how can a sinful man like me stand in the presence of a Holy God and be accepted. It has to do with being made one with God, being able to have fellowship with God. God is light, and I am darkness, God is holy, and I am sin. There cannot be two more different people than God and me. How can I be in union with the Almighty? The answer is found in the gospel of Christ and him crucified. In Jesus Christ I am complete, (Colossians. 2:10). I have everything God requires me to have, and to be, in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30). Almighty God who is holy and just, gracious and merciful, and I, a sinful man, can meet in Christ and be one, have fellowship and walk together in unity. Now that is good news. Pastor John Chapman
Behold We Are In Thy Hand
“And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.” (Joshua 9:25).
When Joshua had conquered Jericho and Ai the men of Gibeon were terrified and feared for their lives (Joshua 9:24). But instead of fighting against Joshua and Israel they unconditionally surrendered to him and sought out means to secure a league of peace (Joshua 9:15). Joshua granted them the terms of peace and made a league with them to be servants in the house of the Lord and to serve the altar of sacrifice to provide water and wood (Joshua 9:23). The men of Gibeon agreed to be willing servants to the Lord and said, “And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.
Is not this the proper and right attitude of every sinner conquered by the Lord Jesus Christ? We are made willing servants unto the Lord, to serve Him in whatsoever “seems good and right” in His sight. Behold Lord we are in thy hand to use us as you see fit. David said, “My times are in thy hand.” (Psalm 31:15). That is where every believer wants to be, in the good, sovereign and powerful hands of the Lord (Psalm 95:7; Luke 23:36).
