Within the last year, In Grace has sponsored mission trips to the Philippines, China, Thailand, and Africa. Something that always thrills me is that no matter what country I am in, I can share the Gospel. I can tell anyone in the world that Christ died for them, because He died for all.

In our passage today, the word “constrain” does not mean to hold back; rather, it has the idea that something so fills us that it moves us. The fact that Christ died for all should “constrain” us and motivate us to take advantage of every opportunity we get to share the Gospel.

Eventually, Nehemiah and the people began making progress on building the wall of Jerusalem. When their enemies saw the progress, they began mocking Nehemiah and his workers. When that didn’t work, they tried physical attacks. Finally, they resorted to attempting to distract Nehemiah with compromise. The wall of Jerusalem was eventually finished, and the nation could rest peacefully. When you serve God and care about souls, the attacks will come from all sides.

Do you care that Jesus died an unfathomable death for you so that you could have eternal life? If you do care, then the outflow of that should be a pressure to share the Gospel – a pressure that produces action.
