Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? How long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Psalm 4:1-3
Christ Is All
If we could peer into heaven and see that great multitude of departed and glorified saints, we would see Abraham and his nephew Lot, Joshua and Rahab the harlot, Samuel and Samson, the penitent thief and the great apostle Paul, ALL dressed in the very same raiment – that beautiful garment of salvation, the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 61: 10), that was freely given to them through faith in His name. After all, nothing less will make a sinner acceptable in God’s sight – and what is there more? Can anything be added to the glorious righteousness of Christ? Can anything make a sinner MORE approved of God? The Lord Jesus Christ is ALL of the believing sinners justifying righteousness before God. He is the Salvation that God has provided for His people – ALL that any guilty sinner needs, and ALL that the holy God requires. “Salvation is of the Lord,” and that salvation is Christ (I Cor. 1:30; II Cor. 5. 21). “He that hath the Son hath life” (I John 5:12).

The Fact of Salvation, Not the Time, is Important
I am sure that some who lived in the days of our Lord’s visitation to earth, and many who heard the gospel from the apostles and the faithful preachers who followed them, could tell you the exact day they met the risen Redeemer and bowed to His sovereign rule. I have never felt that it was important for a person to be able to tell WHEN he was saved, but rather that he be able NOW to state he has experienced repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, that NOW he is looking to Christ as Prophet, Priest, and King and is NOW resting in HIS righteousness and effectual sin-offering.
Too often men and women like to establish a time of conversion and an EXPERIENCE, in order to have something to look back upon for comfort and assurance. This is dangerous! We are not to look to anything nor to anyone but Christ for our hope, our assurance, and our comfort. Paul said something about, “Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching for unto those things which are before,” and, “looking unto the Lord Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” (Phil. 3:13; Heb. 12:2).
Most of us came through the confusion, errors, and false professions of modern fundamentalism and had so much to unlearn, so many false foundations which had to be destroyed, that it is difficult to set an exact hour when our eyes were turned totally from our idols of religion to our living Lord; when our hearts were weaned from the pride of our religious works and professions and brought to REST IN HIM ALONE!
This is the unaided work of the Spirit of God and the Word of God; and this is a living union which shall never be dissolved. This is accomplished when sinners hear the gospel of God’s grace and glory.

Both Lord and Savior.
Jesus Christ is Lord whether I believe or not. Faith does not make Christ Lord, God the Father made Him Lord. Faith does not make Christ to be the Savior, the Father made Him to be the Savior. Then what does faith do? It receives him as Lord and Savior.
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Act2:36). “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”(John1:12).Pastor John Chapman
There Is A Remnant According To The Election Of God
“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work” (Romans 11:5-6).
I love that inspired expression, “According to the election of grace.” Everything believers enjoy, all the spiritual blessings that are given unto us are according to the Lord’s; eternal love, sovereign mercy and electing grace (Rom. 9:11-16; Eph. 1:3-6; 2 Thes. 2:13).
Had the Lord Jesus Christ not chosen us we never would have believed the gospel (John 15:16; Acts 13:48). Had He not put away our sin according to the riches of His grace we never would have experienced the forgiveness of sin (Eph. 1:7). Had the Lord Jesus Christ not called us out of darkness unto His marvelous light we never would have seen the glory of His person (2 Cor. 4:6). Had the Lord Jesus not supplied all our need according to the riches of His grace we would remain a bankrupt sinner on the dunghill of works (Phil. 4:19). Thanks be unto God that salvation is all of grace not of works, but rather because of His will and His purpose in the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8-9; 2 Tim. 1:9; Titus 3:5).
