Author: William McComb Tune: Rock of Ages (Thomas Hastings)
1. Chief of sinners though I be, Jesus shed His blood for me
Died that I might live on high, lived that I might never die
As the branch is to the vine, I am His and He is mine.
2. Oh the heights of Jesus' love! higher than the heav'ns above
Deeper than the depths of sea, lasting as eternity
Love that found me wondrous thought, found me when I sought Him not.
3. Jesus only can impart balms to heal the smitten heart
Peace that flows from sin forgiv'n, joy that lifts the soul to heav'n
Faith and hope that walk with God in the way that Enoch trod.
4. Chief of sinners though I be, Christ is All in All to me
All my wants to Him are known, all my sorrows are His own
Safe with Him from earthy strife, He sustains the hidden life.
5. Oh, my Savior, help afford by Thy Spirit and Thy Word!
When my wayward heart would stray keep me in Thy narrow way
Grace in time of need supply while I live and when I die.

Colossians 2:23
“Which things [man-made rules] have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body;
not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.”
There is a great difference between will worship and willing worship. Will worship is self-imposed worship. It is worship that arises, not from the heart renewed by grace, but from the fleshly wisdom and will of man. It is worship that glories in itself, for the worshipper feels that by his self-imposed efforts he is more virtuous and worthy than others who are not so stringent in their worship. Will worship believes that the more distasteful and burdensome the worship is, the more pleasing it is to God and the more likely it is to gain the worshipper God's blessings. Such worshippers delight in rules and prohibitions by which they deny themselves normal and acceptable comforts and pleasures. They hate what they do, but they love the honor and attention it brings to them.
But willing worship is something else altogether. It is the natural expression of the renewed heart. It finds the "duties" of worship to be delightful. Whatever sacrifices are made seem as nothing compared with the joy experienced in the worship of God. To such a one, attending the meetings of God's people is not a burden, but a relief. Prayers are not chores, but pleasure. Giving is not a loss but a gain. The flesh of God's child may resist such things, but his spirit overcomes and finds delight in all of them. If he is grieved over any aspect of worship, it is grief in his heart that he would ever consider worship a distasteful thing to be avoided whenever possible. God's people worship, not by self-imposition, but by willing hearts. --Joe Terrell

The believer's entire salvation is in and through the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. Truly salvation is of the Lord, and this is what the scriptures proclaim!
1) The Lord Jesus Christ alone is our Redeemer! 1 Peter 1:18-19 - “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
2) The Lord Jesus Christ alone is our Salvation! Acts 4:12 - “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
3) The Lord Jesus Christ alone is our Righteousness! 2 Corinthians 5:21 - “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”
4) The Lord Jesus Christ alone is our Hope, and He alone is our Rest! 1 Timothy 1:1 - “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our Hope;”
Matthew 11:28-29 - “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you Rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
5) The Lord Jesus Christ alone is the One we will worship for eternity!
Revelation 5:9-12 - “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.” Praise His mighty name! --Wayne
