As you consider prayerfully this need, we want to thank you for the freedom in our relationship to present it to you. This is indeed a unique opportunity and the door will not remain open forever. If you have ever thought of making a “legacy gift,” then now is the time. Can you imagine being able to put a persecuted church in a permanent, fully furnished downtown location for only $100,000.00? In the U.S. this would simply be the upfront money to secure the loan. In Tyumen, it will put this young church in a permanent location debt free.
This building will be used as a worship center, an office for counseling and ministry for the pastor, a center for Christian home schooling for, not only the members of this church but others in the Christian community. In addition, there are Baptist churches who are being persecuted as well. The Reformed Church will make its building open to these churches for Sunday afternoon and evening services, offering them a secure location. God will truly bless this project and I encourage you to get in on the ground level.
You may remember that three years ago we embarked on a project to raise $40,000.00 to build a Parsonage/Ministry center for the Reformed Church of Tyumen – because of your faith and prayers this project was realized. Pastor Ravil and his family, who once had to move every year from apartment to apartment because of the persecution of protestants has lived for the last three years in his home. (With indoor toilets!!) This stability has been a great boost and blessing to the church. Now we are ready to move on to phase two of the project--the purchase of store-front property, so that the church may also have a stable place to meet. This church has been forced to move from rented facilities no less than nine times in the last 12 years.
The city of Tyumen, some 600,00 people, is made up of giant apartment complexes. On the ground floor of these are commercial spaces for sale. This would be perfect for this young church.
$100,000.00 would put this church in a fully furnished building… Even as Pastor Ravil’s family had to move from building to building, so has this young church. The stability of the parsonage has been a great blessing, but they have quickly outgrown it in terms of use as a church-wide meeting place. There is a real need for a downtown location. Right now, because of the strength of the dollar and the building boom in Tyumen, there exists a unique opportunity to put this church in a permanent location in one of the “apartment cities”--with easy access to public transportation. This window will not long remain open, so now is the time to act.
$35,000.00 has been pledged in matching funds. Can you imagine planting a church in the middle of a large city for $100,000.00? This will be a worship center fully furnished--kitchen, fellowship hall and children’s education space. With the matching pledge, that means that every dollar you give will be doubled. A special account has been set up and 100% of funds given will go to this church project. As you consider this need please claim this passage for our prayer warriors. 2 Corinthians 9:10-15 10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; 11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God. 13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, 14 while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
