"General Responsibility" Psalm 78:1-7 What we have done is tremendous. Honored family and children making out houses actual homes while the world abuses and disposes of children. Secondly, it is a sign and seal of God's very covenant and who are we to be a part of it?! What a wonder of His grace!
Asaph immediately gets our attention here speaking of something very important....reminding them and us what we have been taught already. Jesus taught in parables the ministries of the Kingdom of Heaven with His people understanding His parables while others did not grasp and did not understand, turning away and not seeing the mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven and they refused to teach the very things they saw with their eyes to their children. That's why He established a law and testimony with His people (Israel) and gave His commandments to lead them in that truth. And to teach their children!
Deuteronomy is not just Old Testament, but it CURRENT and we can apply these things to ourselves and we too have been taught these things with the obligation to teach them to our children generationally. Make sure this teaching lives in generations! That is the requirement of God! We will not hide them and what we do actually affects my children's children! We will NOT hide them! We hide them due to our negligence. We are too busy to sit with our children and to speak of them.....The promises of God need to LIVE and need to continue on! These children are God's children...entrusted to us to be FAITHFUL to our OBLIGATION with! Do we do this? Do we realize that we have an inheritance? We with out children?! Do we tell our children that?
The reason we teach our children is because the Holy Spirit works in covenant generations. Let's also make it an instruction by example. Start it early! They CAN understand more than we understand. Make sure our homes are NURTURING grounds for the TRUTH of God!! Sing the songs of Zion with your children while they hear them even while in the womb. Teach them about what happened at Horeb. Why? Because what we do with our children has ETERNAL ramifications! Do we understand that? Do we understand that the most important gift we can give (and leave behind with them) is the witness of the truth of God?! The treasures of Jehovah God!!!
Let us, you and I, be faithful. What nation is more blest that us? Shouldn't we pass it along that it may live in generations?!
Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to he words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dart saying of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
