Hallelujah, praise the Savior, for in old eternity;
God ordained that He would save us,
Christ from sin would set us free.
Lo! He left His throne of glory, came into this world of woe;
Satisfied His law and justice to pay all the debt we owe.
Hallelujah, praise the Savior, by His blood and agony;
He redeemed His chosen people, fully won the victory.
Jesus bruised the head of Satan, put away iniquity;
Reconciled us to the Father when He died on Calvary.
Hallelujah, praise the Savior, on Him all our hopes depend;
Prophet, Priest & King of glory, what a Brother & our Friend!
Robed in pure and righteous garments,
Soon in heaven we shall be;
And with all the ransomed army, praise His Name eternally.

That faith that is necessary in the salvation of sinners is nowhere in Holy Scriptures portrayed, defined, or revealed as any ground, source, or condition for salvation. Christ’s righteousness imputed is the only ground of salvation; God’s unconditional love for His elect in Christ is the only source of salvation; and the death of Christ to redeem His people from their sins is the only condition for salvation. It is ALL by God’s grace through Christ. What place does faith have? It is the gift of God’s grace given to His people from Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are HIS WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:8-10). It is the fruit of Christ’s work for His people and the work of the Holy Spirit in the new birth wherein He convicts us of sin and drives us to believe and rest in Christ for all righteousness and eternal life. Christ’s death is not made effectual unto our salvation by our believing in Him. Our believing in Him is insured and made effectual to bring us to Him, all because of His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. –Pastor Bill Parker
Why did the psalmist write, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile” (Psalm 32:1-2)? It is because he was convicted by the Holy Spirit of his utter sinfulness and depravity, and he knew well that, "If Thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared" (Psalm 130:3-4). He knew that if God were to judge him based on his best works, he could not stand the test. He also knew that God forgives and delights to show mercy, and this mercy is in and by the Lord Jesus Christ in Whose righteousness sinners saved by grace stand before God justified, forgiven, and eternally secure. –Copied
When God brings a sinner to believe in the true Christ of the Bible, that sinner does not merely change life-style and habits. It is more than an outward reformation of life or a sincere determined religious decision. IT IS A TOTAL CHANGE OF GODS! When we first see the glory of Christ’s Person as God manifests in the flesh and the effectual power of His finished work of righteousness that insures the salvation of His people for whom He died and arose, we see the true and living God for the first time – A JUST GOD AND A SAVIOR. We see then for the first time that the true God of the Bible could save, justify, receive, accept, and bless sinners based solely upon Christ’s righteousness imputed to us. Any god whom we imagined before could do any of these things based on anything else was (and is) an idol. Here we see the essence of God’s gifts of faith in Christ and repentance of dead works AND idolatry.

The heathen outside of the pale of Christendom form gods out of wood and stone; while the millions of heathen inside Christendom manufacture a god out of their own carnal mind! In reality, they are but atheists, for there is no other possible alternative between an absolutely supreme God, and no God at all. A god whose will is resisted, whose designs are frustrated, whose purpose is checkmated, possesses no title to Deity; and so far from being a fit object of worship, merits nothing but contempt. —A. W. Pink
"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance" (Psalm 89:15).
Why is the Gospel news of salvation called the "the joyful sound"? Because it is the vehicle of making known to us that God is love, and that He has (in the blood and righteousness of Christ) opened a channel for His love to exert itself in the salvation of the unworthy. The lost are found; the blind see; the deaf hear; the lame walk; the leprous are cleansed; the dead are made alive; and all "without money and without price" (Isaiah 55:1). –Augustus Toplad
