My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Proverbs 27:11-12
The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31).
WHAT we are to believe is clearly set forth in the NAME of the Lord Jesus Christ! His character, His office, His redemptive work, and His glory are all declared in the name The Lord Jesus Christ.
1.) THE LORD declares His deity, eternality, and authority. We bow before Him and cry with Thomas, “My Lord and my God” (Jonn. 20:28).
2.) JESUS is His name of humiliation, humanity, obedience, and death. We know that He was identified and numbered with the transgressors that He might IN ALL THINGS be our faithful High Priest.
3.) CHRIST – yes, Jesus is the Christ! “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?” (1 John. 2:22).
When we understand all which is included in THAT NAME, we see more clearly what Paul meant when he said, “Whosoever shall call upon THE NAME of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:13).

Limited Atonement — Blessed Revelation!
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20)
I say, without hesitancy, that limited atonement is the most blessed, and perhaps the most important, revelation of God in the Book of Holy Scripture! The Son of God loved me and gave himself for me. What could be more blessed than that? Only in the accomplishments of Christ at Calvary do we see all the glorious attributes of our great God displayed at once. What can be more important than that?
Thank God, that Christ’s death was a limited atonement. Thank God, that Jesus Christ came to seek and save a definite, specific number of people. Thank God, that he has written all their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life from the foundation of the earth. Limited atonement means that I cannot perish, no matter what! Limited atonement means that God’s elect, throughout the world cannot perish, no matter what (1 John 2:1-2).
Limited atonement means that we can know for sure that once all of his lost sheep have been brought back into the fold, Christ will come back to complete our salvation, and we will be with him and be like him forevermore! “Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” (Ephesians 5:25-32)
Yes, we believe in, rejoice in, preach, and give thanks to our God, the one true and living God, the Triune Jehovah, for limited atonement! Pastor Don Fortner
DECLARING THE END FROM THE BEGINNING
"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure" (Isa. 46:9-10).
Almighty God has decreed, fixed, settled the end of all things from the beginning. God's foreknowledge of all things is always based upon His eternal, immutable decree (Acts 15:18). God is omniscient in all things (Psa. 139:1-5), that is one of His many essential attributes. God's foreordination of all things is His deliberate act by which He accomplishes all His pleasure (Rom.11:36). Our sovereign Lord has decreed the end from the beginning of all things, here are some of them to meditate upon!
1). Christ Jesus is the end of the law for righteousness (Rom. 10:4).
If a justifying righteousness could be produced by the sinner, why did the Lord Jesus Christ come into this world (Gal. 2:21)? Our blessed Lord came to honor the very law we had broken and by His perfect obedience established an everlasting righteousness for us (Matt.5:17; Isa.42:21). He not only provides a justifying righteousness for us, but also freely imputes that to us (Rom. 4:1-9).
2). Christ Jesus appeared once in the end of the world to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself (Heb.9:26).
Our sovereign Lord has declared the end of our sin by the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ from the beginning. Before Adam sinned, Christ stood as the Lamb slain from the beginning (Rev. 13:8; 1Peter 1:18-20). After Adam sinned God again declared the end of our sin in the beginning. Christ, the Seed of Woman would bruise, demolish Satan's head, obliterate sins penalty and power (Gen.3:15; Heb.2:4; Heb. 9:26).
3). Christ Jesus is the end and fulfillment of all scriptural prophecies and promises (Luke 24:25-27; 44-48).
All that was spoken and written by the Old Testament prophets concerning salvation in Christ (Acts 10:43; John 5:39); God has decreed from the beginning (Isa. 14:27; 2Peter 1:20-21). Our blessed Lord died for our sins according to the scriptures (1Cor. 15:1-4). Christ Jesus is the God-Man that executed all the purpose and counsel of God (Isa. 46:11; Isa. 44:28).
4). God in Christ has declared the end of our salvation from the beginning (2 Thes.2:13; Eph. 1:3-6).
The end or goal of our salvation is to be just like the Lord Jesus Christ (1John 3:2; Phil.3:21). This is what predestination is all about (Eph.1:3-6). God in the beginning determined to have a glorified people in the very image and likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:28-30).
