Our children are now back to school once again. We reminisce on our baptism vows "to the best of our ability!" To nurture them in the fear of God so they will be "thoroughly equipped" for the Kingdom that awaits them.

What does equipping them or fitting them mean exactly? What are we preparing them for? The task? The world would point you to education and the job with the salary and pay that it relates to in the carnal sense. The child of God would answer differently possibly listing morals, better education, tradition, and such, but we send out children to Christian schools because of our convictions and could do nothing otherwise. We understand we are motivated covenantally dealing with GOD'S children and the Kingdom of God first and foremost! Our kids are teachable men and women of God, entrusted to us that we promised to bring up and raise in God's ways to the UPMOST of our power! Our purpose is the Glory of God in our different areas and callings in life. That's who we AND our children are with the only difference being that our children are teachable and formidable.

But what equipment are we going to give our children that they may live to the glory of God? Note that we are NOT talking about their aptitude here. What will thoroughly furnish them in whatever calling they come to have? It is the FEAR OF GOD! It is profitable in all areas of life. For doctrine, reproof, correction, direction, and is the ONLY infallible rule for faith and living! It is PARAMOUNT and will never steer wrongly. It is incomprehensible how some can question the affordability of christian education! Aside from the schools it all begins in the home. There is a triad here. Church, school, and home:

The Church: The body of Christ wherein God establishes families. It is called to preach the WORD and to catechize. Should we intensify our efforts or lighten them after reading Timothy?

The Family: In the Church we find our families of God where He builds His church. He equips the families in the Church.

The Schools: The school is the place where God fearing parents ban TOGETHER in order that our homes may be extended into the schooling of our children and under the umbrella of what we believe and hear weekly in CHURCH!

Our baptism vows are the same vows that apply to our children in the classrooms. It is a matter of the covenant and we must be watchful. It is our OBLIGATION to be covenantally involved even in our children's education and all three (church, home, and school) MUST jive with the Word of God!

He preaches the gospel and touches us as children of God and we live and die in that conviction and it leads us, disciplines us, corrects and guides us and our children even long AFTER we are dead and gone! It will also be channeled in the classroom and we can sit down with our children and discuss the time and talents that relate to the callings the Lord has for them (not dollars and cents) that they with us may live unto God a life whereby we may worship HIM!

We will send our children packing with a Bible as they go away into their life and God will achieve His fashioning and molding of us till we are fit to enter into the Kingdom....where we will NOT and no longer need the Bible or correction because we will then be perfect!
