And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces.
Isaiah 25:6-8
Pastor Don Fortner is scheduled to preach for us on Thursday, Sept.14, He is also scheduled to preach for our friends in Dingess, Wv. on Friday evening 7:30 and Saturday morning.
PREACHING THE GOSPEL
My dear friend, we need nothing in these days for revival and refreshing but THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL! This is the only great battering ram that shall dash down the bulwarks of iniquity. This is the great light that shall scatter the darkness. We need no new schemes nor new plans; we need but PREACH THE WORD!
We must not neglect it nor despise it. The age in which the pulpit and the preaching of the Word is despised will be an age in which truth will cease to be honored. Once put away God's ministers and you have taken the candle out of the candlestick, quenched the lamp God has appointed in the sanctuary. God has ordained by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Oh, what power there is in THE PREACHED WORD. Pastor Henry T. Mahan
PREACHERS TODAY VERSUS PREACHERS OF OLD
· Preachers today are licensed and ordained by the church; men of old were ordained and sent by God.
· Preachers today go forth armed with degrees and credentials; men of old went forth anointed by the Holy Spirit.
· Preachers today are questioned by committees and hired to preach what the church believes; men of old came preaching, “Thus saith the Lord.”
· Preachers today give themselves to programs, visitation, church business; men of old gave themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
· Preachers today preach and men are persuaded to move their membership; men of old preached and “they were pricked in their hearts and cried, Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
· Preachers today pray and the organ plays softly; Elijah prayed and the fire of God fell.
· Preachers today are afraid that they will offend someone; Paul was afraid that he would not. If there is no offence, the gospel has not been preached. Anon
In this house of worship we spell grace “T.U.L.I.P.” — Total Depravity — Unconditional Election — Limited Atonement — Irresistible Grace — Perseverance of the Saints. No doctrine will be received or tolerated that is not in complete agreement with these plain, unquestionable revelations of the Gospel.

HE NEVER CHANGES
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8).
I am so thankful that as I grow older and things change, inside and out, that there is one who never changes.
His love never changes with time, for he loved me with an everlasting love that knows no change.
His power never changes. He is just as able to keep me from falling today as when I first began.
His Word never changes: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good” (Numbers 23:19)? Has he not magnified his word above his name?
His election of me shall never change. He will never cast off those whom he has chosen, for they will never do anything that he did not know about and has not already taken care of.
The Power of His Blood shall never change. It still cleanses from all sin. No matter how deep the stain has gone, his blood washes it away.
His Sacrifice will never change; it will never lose its effectiveness because it is always fresh in the midst of the Throne of God: “And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,…” (Revelation 5:6) We have a living sacrifice standing in the midst of the Throne of God.
When we rise out of our beds in the morning and go through our changes, just remember that there is one who remains the same yesterday, today and forever: The Rock Christ Jesus
