Our Lord called home our dear brother and friend Herman Tucker this afternoon. We rejoice for him, but his presence will be missed by the folks who knew and loved him.

HYMN OF THE DAY
Lazarus' Resurrection
"Believe," said Christ. I am the Life.
God's Glory you will see.
All of my sons shall come to life,
Mine from eternity.
Our Lord wept at a tomb one day.
He groaned in love and prayed.
With a loud voice He called, "Come forth."
The dead His voice obeyed.
What hope this gives to us today!
In sin and trespass, dead.
His Gospel Voice calls to His own
To rise as Jesus said.
Tune: Amazing Grace, #236
By Gary Spreacker
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them;
and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the
body, Hebrews 13:2-3
Remember our brothers and sisters who are suffering in mind and body now. Remember their love and their fellowship; and remember to pray for them.
God has given us two ears, but one tongue, to show that we should be swift to hear, but slow to speak. God has set a double fence before the tongue, the teeth, and the lips, to teach us to be wary that we offend not with our tongue. - T. Watson

Why did Peter begin to sink after getting out of the ship? The cause of his failure was not because the water was to rough, but he failed to keep his eye on the Master, he ceased to look in simple faith to the Lord Jesus.
Faith can walk on rough water as easily as on smooth. Nature cannot walk on either.
It is not a question of the state of the water, but the state of the heart. - Copied

Four Things a religionist cannot counterfeit!
(1) A heart truly broken toward God because of his sin.
(2) He will never justify God in His judgments, whatever they may be or upon whomever they may fall.
(3) He can never bow to the sovereignty of God in Salvation.
(4) He can never receive Christ Alone for Salvation. - Pastor

It is hard to say which is worse – the atheist who says, “There is no God” or the religionist who maintains that God cannot do as He pleases.
Since all men by nature have stony hearts, all the threatening in the world will do no good; the stony heart of natural man must be pierced by THE POWER OF GOD in order to be tender! One with a tender heart desires to know the will of God, has a readiness for spiritual things, has a disposition to obey revealed truth, and has a desire to make the things of God his chief business. - Scott Richardson
GOD’S POWER - PSALMS 62:11
The power of God is that ability and strength, by which He can bring to pass whatsoever He pleases. It is His power that gives life and action to what He has purposed from the foundation of the world. How vain would the will of God be without power to carry it out? Without His power, His mercy would be feeble pity, His promises empty words.
God’s power is like Himself, infinite, eternal, incomprehensible, “No man can stay His hand”. “God hath spoken once” (Ps. 62:11) Does he need so speak more than once? What else is necessary? In creation, it says; “He spake and it was done, he commanded and it stood fast” (Ps. 33:9).
If we want to create something we should get tools and materials and often and most of the time it doesn’t come out the way we would like, BUT NOT GOD! He made the world out of nothing, and in saving us he made something out of nothing, To God be the glory great things he has done
As he spoke the world into existence and now upholds it by the power of word, it is by the power of his word he saves his people. He said; “my sheep hear my voice”, “being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” (1 Pet. 1:23).
This glorious God is worthy of our worship, adoration and trust. Nothing is too hard for him. No prayer is too hard for him to answer. No need too great for him to supply. No passion too strong for him to subdue, no temptation too powerful for him to deliver from, no misery to deep foe him to relieve. - Pastor

...“Lord Jesus Christ, our hope” (1 Tim. 1:1)
If you take away the Lord Jesus from believers, you take their all. He is the source of future and present happiness and hopes. Without Him we are still in our sins, under the curse of the law, without God in this world and without hope. Bless the name of the Lord, “it is Christ in you the HOPE of glory” (Col. 1:27). - Pastor
