Jesus Bore the Wrath of GOD Author: Pastor Jim Byrd - Tune: “Amazing Grace,” (CM)
1. How blest are they whose sin and guilt Are fully washed away; No fear have they of wrath divine When comes the Judgment Day.
2. Offended justice fell on Christ, Who for the guilty died; And by His bloody sacrifice, Poor souls are justified.
3. With Christ the perfect sacrifice, Our God is satisfied; The Savior magnified the law, When on the cross He died.
4. Since Jesus bore their load of sin Upon the rugged tree; The ransomed of the Lord are safe For all eternity.
5. How can we know that Jesus died And suffered in our place? ‘Tis in this way, if we by faith, The Son of God embrace *****
Blessing or Curse? Consider yourselves, your strengths, your infirmities, your personalities. Perhaps you always feel like you never do anything right. Is that a blessing or is that a curse? You might be someone who can’t manage your emotions or temper. Is that a blessing or is that a curse? You might be hard of hearing, or your eyesight is not good, or you can’t speak. Are those a blessing or are those a curse? You might have a deformity from birth that impairs you, keeps you from living as easily as others do. Is that a blessing or is that a curse? If you ask the world, they will say that all of those things sound bad, and are bad, and are holding you back; and you’ll never reach your full potential. But I’m here to tell you that you were exactly what you needed to be when God called you. What you suffer from, what you lack, what infirmities you carry, have all been given to you to bring you to Jesus Christ and call upon the name of the Lord. Ask Mephibosheth if he was cursed with bad legs. You’ll find him at the king’s table. Ask the thief on the cross if he wishes he could take back his criminal past and his final punishment. You can find him in paradise. Ask Bartimaeus if he wanted his eyesight back earlier than when he got it. You’ll have to go quickly to catch up to him, because he’s been following Jesus down the road ever since. Ask yourselves why you have suffered so much. You will find that it was to bring you to the Lord Jesus Christ. --Nathan Terrell ***** Who is your Confidence in? Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ base their confidence on Christ, not on their works, not on a decision, but on Christ and Christ alone! They boast of no self-righteousness, they know that through or by the works of the flesh or deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified before God Almighty. They know their justification only comes from and through Christ and Him alone and they are justified by faith through Him! The believers, hope is in Christ, the believer’s faith has one object and that is Christ alone! Rejoice you who have been redeemed, what a Savior is Jesus Christ our LORD! Romans 3:24-28 “Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Romans 5:1-2 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Galatians 3:11 “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.” --Wayne ***** A Living Personal Jesus! "Christ is All!" Colossians 3:11 Christianity is all centered in a person! Conversion is not a mere change of human opinion; it is the devotion of the heart to a person. A converted man is not a man who just changes his views concerning certain facts, or theories, or doctrines - but he is a man whose heart has become devoted to a living Christ. All your religion, if it is worth anything - will be centered in a living personal Jesus.Your doctrines will all come from Him; your motives will be found in Him your joys will be found in Him; your acceptance will be found in Him; your completeness will be found in Him! "You are complete in Him!" Colossians 2:10 --Archibald Brown
