A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. Proverbs 25:11-13
Not An Offer
Any time a preacher presents the grace of God as an offer on God’s part to anybody who is willing to receive it; he has not preached grace as the Bible does. The Bible does not say, “but God, who is rich in mercy for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins has offered us His grace.”
It says that God “quickened us together with Christ, by grace are you saved.” Grace is not offered; grace is given! And when grace is given, it always saves and is always received! We do not have a choice as to whether or not we will accept God’s offer of grace. Grace saves! Grace is not something we use to aid in our salvation, Grace saves us! Pastor Todd Nibert
Jesus Christ Himself
If Christianity is the mere invention of men, an opiate of the people, or a foolish desire for a happy hunting ground, how do you explain Jesus Christ?
1). His existence in history men cannot deny. He lived in this world. He was born in Bethlehem, walked this earth, died on a Roman cross, and witnesses claim that He arose from the grave.
2). Without force or bribery, without arms or money, without an earthly kingdom or great possessions, He left a mark on this world as no other person in all of history! He never wrote a book, yet no library is sufficient to hold the books written about Him. He never wrote a song, yet He has been the theme of more songs than all others combined.
3). All other religious leaders came to live; He came to die! All other messiahs chose as their followers the rich, powerful, and influential; He chose the poor, the despised, and the rejected. All other messiahs say, “Follow me, I’ll show you the way.” He said, “Follow me, I AM the way.” All others claim to be messengers of God; He said, “I and the Father are One.” All others stay dead; He arose and all His claims, promises, and work depend on His resurrection.

No Lie Is The Truth
“I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth” (1 John 2:21).
A localradio preacher recently said, “Your destiny is determined by how you live.” When I heard first heard that I was not surprised because this man preaches and believes that salvation is determined by the sinner’s works. But what a sad and horrible lie this is. It is totally contrary to the word of God. The scriptures teach that salvation is of the Lord, not by our works. Salvation is always determined, dependent and accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ; His will (Rom 9:12-16), His blood (1 Peter 1:18-20) and His righteousness (Rom. 3:19-24).
Consider these scriptures that teach us that salvation is by God’s grace alone, not our works:
Eph. 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
2 Tim. 1:9; “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.”
Titus 3:5; “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”
These scriptures teach and the whole message of the Bible teaches salvation from first to last and from Alpha to Omega is of the Lord; His doing and His dying. Man has no part in the accomplishment of our salvation. It is the truth that sets sinners free. “No lie is of the truth.” The Lord said, “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
Thanks be unto our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ who has determined our destiny by His righteous obedience unto the holy law of God (Matt. 5:17; Heb. 7:26) and His blood sacrifice unto death (Heb. 9:26). Giving us everything we need in our salvation; righteousness (Rom. 4:6-8; Phil. 3:7-9) and redemption (1 Cor. 1:30; Eph. 1:7; Heb. 9:12).
