Come, let us sing the song of songs, The glory which to Christ belongs; The hosts of Heav’n began the strain, Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.
Slain to redeem us by His blood, And makes us kings and priest to God; To cleanse from ev’ry sinful stain, Worthy the lamb, for He was slain.
Among a thousand hearts and songs, His sacred name fills all our tongues; All pow’r in Heav’n and earth proclaim, Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.
Long as I live and when I die, This song of songs shall be my cry; And while in Heav’n with Him I reign, Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:4-5)
THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
Every child of God echoes the words of David, “The LORD is my Shepherd” (Psalm 23:1). He is the covenant Shepherd to Whose care God’s elect were entrusted in the covenant of grace (Ezekiel 34:22-25). He is the good Shepherd Who gave His life for His sheep (John 10:11, 14). He is the smitten Shepherd Who died in the stead of His sheep (Zechariah 13:7) so that God might be “a just God and a Saviour” (Isaiah 45:21). He is the great Shepherd Who was raised again for our justification (Hebrews 13:20; Romans 4:25). He is the seeking Shepherd Who pursues, finds and rescues His wandering sheep (Matthew 18:12). He is the converting Shepherd Who turns His wayward sheep, drawing them to Himself (1 Peter 2:25). He is the caring Shepherd Who gathers, feeds and provides for His sheep (Isaiah 40:11). He is the chief Shepherd Who will come again and receive the sheep unto Himself (1 Peter 5:4). He is the dividing Shepherd Who will separate His sheep from the goats at the final judgment (Matthew 25:32). —Pastor Jim Byrd
I depend wholly and alone upon the free, sovereign, eternal, unchangeable and everlasting love of God; the firm and everlasting covenant of grace, and my interest in the persons of the Trinity; for my whole salvation: and not upon any righteousness of my own, nor any thing in me, or done by me under the influences of the holy Spirit; nor upon any services of mine, which I have been assisted to perform for the good of the church; but upon my interest in the persons of the Trinity, the person, blood and righteousness of Christ, the free grace of God, and the blessings of grace streaming to me through the blood and righteousness of Christ; as the ground of my hope. – John Gill
“He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10). We do not think it strange, or preposterous, to wear clothes, the materials of which we borrow from other creatures. And why should it be deemed absurd, that we should hide our spiritual shame, by appearing before God in the garment of another, even the righteousness of Christ.– Augustus Toplady
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20) It is true that the Lord uses weak and sinful men to preach His Word of truth in the Gospel of His grace in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:21). But when saving knowledge and understanding (i.e. faith) is given to a regenerate sinner, make no mistake – It is the Lord’s work and not man’s. –Copied
Can a person be intellectually brought to salvation? Well, the Lord said that in salvation, the intellect (mind and understanding) is involved – “It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me” (John 6:45). This does not mean a person has to be a genius to be saved. It does not mean salvation is a matter of intellect alone. It does mean that a person, even a little child, must learn some things as taught of God. He must learn how a holy and righteous God can remain holy and righteous and still show mercy and grace to sinners. How can God be just and still forgive our sin? The Gospel gives us the answer — It is by God sending His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into the world to satisfy all the conditions and requirements of His holy law and justice by establishing for us an everlasting righteousness of infinite value. It is upon this ground that God can be both a just God and a Savior. This is God’s saving, redemptive glory. It is in this way we learn of Him as a loving Father who will save us, keep us, bless us, and bring us into His eternal presence in glory based on the blood and the righteousness of his dear Son.
