I am intrigued. On average, my sermons run at just over 1 download for every 2.5 views but this sermon posted a couple of Lord's Days ago titled 'The Walking Dead - Will YOU PRAY for them' is sitting at present with 750+ views and has had 45 downloads that's about 1 download for every 17 views - quite a ratio given the norm. (Here's another twist in the tail - it's sitting at the top of the list for the number of people's favorites re my sermons)
Why do you think this is happening?
Could it be that people see the words 'dead' and 'prayer' and think the sermon is about praying for the physically dead? But surely the majority of people hitting sermonaudio realise that they're not going to hear a sermon on this site about praying for the physically dead. Maybe they're just taken with the title and then when they realise it's about praying for the spiritually dead whom they know their interest wanes.
Could it be that people like to hear sermons on 'prayer' but when it is focused on their praying, and involves them thinking about the eternal reality of those whom they love, then they just move on? But surely the majority of people hitting sermonaudio have a love for God, desire to commune with Him in prayer and have a deep and genuine concern for the lost, particularly those close to them.
Obviously there are could be a myraid of reasons why people have viewed the sermon and not downloaded it but it is nontheless interesting to ponder what it could be saying about: Christians, prayer and their lost loved ones and friends.
