(Special thanks to Mrs. Izaguirre for compiling this report for GCI. Without her research and data assessment this report would not be possible.)
Dear Prayer Warriors, Thanks to your faithful and sacrificial partnership with GCI in 2016, the three-fold cord held strong.
First: through prayer. In 2016, we traveled to eleven cities in four countries, speaking on the Biblical foundations of marriage, parenting, and discipleship, as well as encouraging others through the exposition of the great doctrines of our faith in Christ. During each of these trips, your prayers to God on our behalf saw us, as well as our ministry supplies, safely delivered to our destinations. While the evil one sought to discourage us with misplaced luggage, personal sickness, worker strikes, and political upheaval, God was moved through your prayers to bless the ministry of Grace Community International.
Second: through giving. Because of your gifts in 2016, we helped equip fellow brothers and sisters in Christ by bringing a total of thirty-eight 50lb boxes filled with leather-bound study Bibles and ministry aids on our various trips. These supplies went straight into the eager hands of pastors and lay ministers and their wives – providing these faithful shepherds of God’s people with the resources needed to rightly lead their sheep. For many of these fellow laborers, the cost of these supplies exceeded several months’ salary; all resources were provided freely to these ministry leaders as you gave generously to GCI. Additionally, GCI sponsored 80 conference scholarships which enabled ministers and their wives to participate in training that otherwise would have been beyond their reach.
Third: through going. This past year we participated in 24 conferences around the globe, spoke at more than 250 conference sessions, and reached more than 1,500 people with the Word of God. On our trips to Cameroon and Kenya, we were joined by GCI board of directors members and their wives who labored alongside us in ministering at these events. Grace Community International is also committed to building up the church in all areas in which we minister. To this end, in 2016 we partnered with 13 local churches to participate in about 60 services and outreach opportunities.
We spent approximately 100 days this past year laboring in foreign fields – planting, sowing, and reaping, as God moved hearts to respond in faith and obedience to His holy Word. Again, thank you for partnering with the ministry of Grace Community International through praying, giving, and going. With trips already scheduled in 2017 for Russia and western Africa, we eagerly look forward to what God would do with our service to Him this next year. But only through your sustained financial gifts are these trips made possible.
Thank you for your gifts in 2016 and for continuing to partner with GCI as we seek to fulfill the vision of winning the world through heads of households and discipling the world through families!
By His mercy, II Corinthians 4:1 Rev. John S. Mahon Grace Community Int. – Preparing to depart for Russia January 17th
