John sketches a rather different picture than we are use to seeing. He places the devil here. He shows the promise has come true as he describes the end of the world. He speaks of the promise being fulfilled in the cross as the church is taken to heave to rejoice forevermore. John is shown a vision and sees two wonders. The woman or the Church nd the other wonder the devil. Two wonders who are in play in the very celebration we have today. The devil wants to devour the Manchild as soon as He is born. Just lie Athaliah and Herod. He wants to make God's promises null and void. He thought he had victory when Christ was crucified but Christ arose! And now that devil takes his task to the church.

But that Child was of noble lineage because He was very God. Hope against hope even in the fullness of time. Born of the line of David as promised. Who is that Manchild? A Star our of Jacob, a Kingly Scepter who would rule the nations (Numbers,) the Prince of Peace whose government would be on His shoulders and of noble heritage (Isaiah,) and one who was God from the very beginning (John.)

One who sits at the right hand of God who is the Lord of Lords. "Are you a king of the Jews?"
"For this end I came into the world......" The Kingdom of which you and I belong to eternally. "Henceforth shalt thou see Me coming with the clouds of Heaven." He sits in glory, holds the reigns of history, protects His church, and will establish His Kingdom of which we are a part!
